Role Summary

Responsible for coordinating security issues with internal facility management and outside agencies to ensure our security systems are optimally configured; assisting with the design and implementation of future security enhancements as well as other new electronic security projects; supporting our current systems; developing databases; leading security operations initiatives; and management of the Global Security Operations Center.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage security systems design and installation for all company facilities globally.
  • Evaluate any new software releases, system & firmware upgrades, and system patches to resolve software and hardware related problems.
  • Manage vendor security system proposals and designs to ensure timely recommendations are made for new and existing security systems.
  • Identify corrective measures for security related issues, prepare business cases and recommendations to global business operations.
  • Manage vendors appointed to provide global security systems maintenance ensuring monitoring, backups and recovery processes have been defined and are current and being followed by all facilities.
  • Publish periodic reports on security systems operability, including system issues and corrective actions.
  • Put in place and manage processes to receive and troubleshoot technical security equipment, micros and other hardware and software issues relating to the security systems for multiple locations globally.
  • Work closely with the global Real Estate and FM team on the planning of global real estate projects, including the provision of advice for security system installations in new facilities and modifications to existing facilities as needed.
  • Manage security systems service calls for global sites.
  • Oversee systems policies and SOPs that establish and maintain global system integrity related to access control and CCTV.
  • Oversee adherence to corporate security policies, standards and procedures, and assist with asset protection and investigations of stolen and or lost product and property
  • Manage the badge production process and ensure related inventory is being properly accounted for at global sites.
  • Schedule badge audits for global locations to maintain an accurate account of badges issued to each badge creating facility.
  • Assist with emergency evacuation plans for sites and ensure evacuation coordinators are briefed on plan changes when applicable.
  • Ensure network security access and protect against unauthorized access, modification or destruction on a global level. Manage authorized personnel schedule to ensure approved access to restricted areas is compliant at all times.
  • Supervise and get involved in the enforcement of rules and regulations and fire/life safety procedures in conjunction with EH&S
  • Manage global/regional command console SOP training is current and complies with IQVIA Security requirements globally.
  • Ensure timely and thorough communication of security issues to employees.
  • Regularly interface with Human Resources to keep up to date on new hires, terminations or other security related issues that may affect normal operations.
  • Direct and coordinate the installation, upgrade and conversion or servicing of alarm systems, access controls, CCTV systems and all other types of physical security equipment.
  • Responsibility for Global Security Systems capital and expense budget planning, accountability and controls.
  • Oversight and management of global investigations in conjunction with HR and others in response to alleged code of ethics violations, criminal incidents, workplace violence, thefts, IT breach and other similar events
  • Assist with Executive Security where appropriate
  • Membership with Global Crisis Management
  • Maintain knowledge of the security industry, analyze the abilities of tools and technologies and compare with the needs of the business, recommend potential solutions
  • Act as a liaison to the business in the areas of design and implementation of physical security system.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

Professional skills and experience required

The ideal candidate should have…

  • Bachelor's Degree in a security related field (or similar)
  • Certified security professional
  • Expert level knowledge of security best practice
  • Significant experience in related environment in a professional setting, including experience in operating, maintaining and administering access control, intrusion detection, CCTV or similar electronic systems
  • Equivalent combination of education, training and related computer information systems experience.
  • Experience in a multi-regional security control
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to manage vendors including contractors
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to understand building drawings (floor plans, Architectural drawings, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of security principles, procedures, and related security measures required to protect corporate assets and personnel.
  • Working knowledge of state-of-the-art security systems (computer applications, access control systems, incident/emergency response measures, and investigative support requirements).
  • Ability to provide daily instruction to both contract security staff and outside vendor.
  • Ability to confidently communicate with people of diverse backgrounds and at varying organizational levels.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and discretion regarding all corporate matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, manage and work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients
