Clinical Nurse Assistant

Position Description:

Qualified registered nurses (RN) will be tasked with coordinating medical device service upgrades and education throughout large acute care hospitals. The focus will be primarily on critical care units, but any units that use the device will be affected. The changes are a result of a software enhancement made to an IV infusion pump. You will be assisting the service team in device collection, staff education, and facilitating room to room device swap outs.

This role allows you to utilize your nursing experience in a new way that does not involve direct patient care. If you are currently working part time or per diem, this type of position can work in conjunction with your current schedule. Additionally, you will receive exposure to the medical device industry with the potential for future opportunities in this field.

This role includes traveling nationally on a weekly basis. 

Responsibilities:

  • Navigate units and coordinate with unit nurses to assist with pulling pumps as needed

  • Provide education and staff support regarding user interface changes to infusion pumps

  • Assist with questions pertaining to the software upgrade and help to instill confidence in nursing staff about the infusion pump updates.

  • Provide clinical and professional expertise to end-users.

  • Support management staff with infusion pump configuration to adhere to facility requirements and guidelines

  • Interacting with patients when entering patient rooms to swap out devices for the upgrade. No direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse RN degree

  • Hospital or Industry Experience required

  • Ability to travel up to 100% (weekly)

  • Can commit to minimum of 40 hours per week

  • Leadership experience preferred

  • Excellent Communications Skills

  • Excellent documentation skills

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, kneeling and some lifting of equipment may be required of up to 50 pounds
