Director, Software Development - Contract Sales and Medical Solutions

We are looking for an experienced manager of our Contract Sales and Medical Solutions (CSMS) Global Technology Offerings team spread in 6+ countries.
IQVIA’s Contract Sales and Medical Solutions technology offerings team is a global, lean team that develops and services innovative technology offerings to enable IQVIA’s commercial and patient services offerings globally.
You will manage technical teams developing solutions on top Salesforce.com platform and other tech. stack as appropriate. You will manage the complete team who are responsible for end-to-end delivery of the architectural solutions and design. There will be much collaboration between technical and business teams, plus you will lead the most crucial elements which makes the team successful; evaluating new tools and technology, cultivating the development of each individual, and hiring more great people to join them!
Ultimately, you would provide technical leadership and guidance and would help facilitate the team to build out new capabilities and/or products in a manner such that they drive CSMS vision via technology enabled solutions - solving for scale, resilience and reliability at the same time.
You would coach and grow technical leaders and help them be successful individual contributors or managers. You would partner with other product, and operational delivery and support leaders in the team to drive product roadmaps and deliver customer facing projects at high quality.

In this role, you can expect to;
• Manage the Development teams in all aspects of organization to increase their productivity and maintain team morale as well as help the team achieve stakeholder expectations
• Coordinate the day to day activities of development teams to ensure high quality, accurate and timely deliverables which meet stakeholder requirements.
• Develop, build up and optimizes a Management Framework for all aspects of people management like performance tracking based on facts and figures, trainings and personal development plans, recruiting high skilled talent, work on attractiveness of jobs and work location, retention plans, etc.
• Collaborate with other development hubs within IQVIA to deliver on goals
• Meet and present to senior executives and serve as the technical SME
• Contribute to discussions on the implementation of Global Technology Offerings strategy on a global and regional basis and implement objectives, as applicable. Support strategic initiatives and develop implementation plans
• Provide technical leadership and management for IT solutions from conception through deployment
• Stay current with emerging technical innovations and solutions within relevant remit
• Drive innovation that will lead to operational efficiencies and/or automation


Qualifications
• Highly technical, previous software development experience 10+ years
• Extensive experience architecting and building scalable, usable and secure web applications and SaaS solutions
• Detailed understanding of general mobile, web and Salesforce.com platform technologies
• Experience of directly managing software development teams in an international context
• Experience or interest in cutting-edge and trending tools and technologies
• Experience in Implementing, running and improving Agile Scrum Methodology
• Experience with short release cycles, the full software lifecycle, and experience working on a product that’s been released for public consumption
• Experience in hiring, mentoring and managing engineers
• Working experience of software engineering best practices including coding standards, code reviews, build processes, testing, and operations
• Excellent communicational and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with and influence all levels of the business
• Proven soft skills to people-manage teams remotely, with the ability to solve conflicts and to moderate organizational improvements
• Ability to communicate complex challenges succinctly to stakeholders with limited technical expertise avoiding technical jargon
• Ability to work on own initiative and to work under pressure
• Previous experience in technical healthcare sector is an advantage.
• Understanding of clinical development and experience with 21 CFR Part 11 and GXP preferred
• Tech stack – Salesforce.com, .Net MVC, AWS, MuleSoft/Informatica, build tools, source code management, CI/CD pipeline management
