Consultant, Oncology - Real World Solutions

As a Consultant, Oncology on the Real World Solutions team, you will support the delivery of a wide range of client projects in the pharmaceutical and medical device space in Canada, specifically the Oncology space. These projects include market landscapes, retrospective data analyses, market access projects, retrospective patient chart studies, budget impact analyses, patient journeys, access metrics, and other varied and exciting engagements.

Working with other team members you will:

  • Contribute to the study design and methodology development at both the planning and execution stages. This includes providing clinical context and information to both the internal team and client.
  • Assist in the preparation of case report forms, study protocols and draft reports.
  • Analyze and interpret clinical qualitative and quantitative real world data for deliverables.
  • Prepare presentations, abstracts and manuscripts for scientific conferences and submission to scientific journals.
  • Present results to clients and provide clinical context to presentations.

Project management and client liaison responsibilities:

  • Assist with overall project and client management ensuring timely and high quality deliverables.
  • Attend client and other external meetings normally accompanied by a colleague.
  • Provide a unique clinical perspective to all projects for both the internal team and client team.


Business development responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze client requirements or problems to help develop proposals for projects.
  • Provide clinical context on client questions to ensure proposals are feasible and clinically relevant.
  • Help produce initial drafts of proposals based on client RFPs and supporting information.


Experience:

  • 2 years’+ experience undertaking database or health outcomes research, or pharmaceutical industry in a relevant area such as business analytics, marketing, market access, epidemiology, pharmacovigilance, or biostatistics.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent required in a related discipline (oncology, public health, pharma, etc.), advanced degree highly preferred. 
  • Experience in a clinical setting (Hospital, CRO, Healthcare, etc.), Pharmaceutical, Healthcare Consulting, Academic, Governmental Research Org, or Health Services Research.

Skills:

  • Ability to present and convey study results to a client in both technical and non-technical forms.
  • Conducting analyses in databases and/or registries (longitudinal patient level data analysis).
  • Good understanding of outcomes research theory, and practical knowledge of research project implementation.
  • Competency in using Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • High level of communication and literacy – able to write reports and manuscripts in clear, accurate and concise language.
  • Understanding and interest in the Canadian and international healthcare environment
  • Experience in programming Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), statistical software (SAS, SPSS, R).
