Corporate Communications Manager, Asia Pacific

The APAC Corporate Communications Manager is responsible for all internal and external communications for the Asia Pacific business, ensuring consistency with global corporate guidelines and policies. This is a high-visibility role that will require the individual to work closely with the Asia Pacific leadership team as their communications business partner. The main duties include supporting regional leaders with their internal communication plans, as well as managing external communications including media engagement and press releases. This role will also oversee the APAC social media strategy and work closely with the APAC marketing team. The role will report into the Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications for Asia Pacific

Responsibilities:

1.)Internal communication

• Drive the internal communication strategy for the Asia Pacific business, working directly and supporting key regional business leaders disseminate information to relevant audiences

• Responsible for end-to-end management and execution of regular internal communication activities including townhalls, newsletters, announcements, and manage the internal microsite and communication app platform

• Develop individual communication plans and calendars for different business leaders, detailing the activities and tactics to be employed in communicating leadership updates on business strategy, vision, performance overview, key initiatives etc. The individual will be expected to advise on the most appropriate formats and channels to be employed based on communication objectives

• Be the main point of contact for Asia Pacific and coordinate between global corporate communications and in-country specialists to ensure alignment over company-wide communications 

2.) External communication

• Work with approved media outlets to increase brand exposure, with a greater focus on earned media; Maintain a close working relationship with a network of contacts in communication sources and/or media outlets in APAC

• Provide insights and counsel to senior leadership, executives and business partners from different functions across the region on external communications; provide basic media training as needed 

• Scan news and industry happenings to "stay ahead" and proactively manage any media situations

• Develop and execute corporate promotions and other marketing communications programs relating to the media

• Formulate appropriate messaging to support IQVIA branding and manage crisis communications and issues proactively to neutralize negative media coverage; Anticipate scenarios and take a proactive approach in developing action plans in certain cases

• Work closely with global corporate communications on alignment regarding external communications and media engagement for APAC

3.) Social media

• Own and manage the Asia Pacific corporate social media handles – LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook – with the objective of improving brand presence and awareness, increasing follower size and driving engagement via diversified content and types of posts  

• Responsible for devising the regional social media strategy, developing the content plan, scheduling the calendar, and tracking and reporting engagement metrics to improve campaign performance and evaluate ROI

• Must be able to create compelling social media posts highlighting thought leadership insights, data and statistics, promotional content, webinar/event registration, based on information and materials developed by the marketing team

• Must have experience in running successful paid social campaigns

• Work closely with the global social media team to stay connected and cascade key information across the corporate social media accounts

4.) General

• Stay abreast of developments inside and outside the organization that impact company image and/or reputation, and recommend appropriate communication strategy in response

• Write copy, edit copy, coordinate reviews and approvals, and oversee production of materials, for internal and external audiences, related to corporate communications, marketing, PR, crisis communication and change management

• Manage junior resources and help train and develop talent. Supervise and review work of communication specialists and vendors

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Degree in Marketing Communications and/ or related fields

• 7+ years of experience in corporate communications and media relations

• Excellent proficiency in verbal and written English, with experience in drafting official communications such as President’s memos, Corporate Announcements, Press Releases 

• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with a high degree of professionalism and prior experience working directly with senior executives

• Knowledge of the healthcare and life sciences industry is preferred

• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with external media institutions

• Must be able to work within short notice and under tight deadlines in the case of urgent communications
