General Ledger Accountant (BlackLine team)

PURPOSE

You will be a member of the IQVIA BlackLine team, with your position based in financial shared services center in Bratislava Slovakia, which is an integral part of our global financial shared services network.

In this position, you will be responsible for administrative functions necessary to maintain BlackLine, IQVIA’s software solution for account reconciliations, variance reporting, task management, and other functions, contributing to the US GAAP accounting and reporting requirements for the Company’s legal entities in a number of countries.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support month end process within deadlines and instructions
  • Ensure that records are thoroughly maintained in preparation for independent audits
  • Provide full audit support during annual financial audits
  • Participate in automation projects or initiatives
  • Ensure appropriate communication with all business partners and support business partners in financial decisions, if required
  • Maintain and improve technical accounting skills
  • Maintain and improve BlackLine system knowledge including new features and updates
  • Perform other duties as assigned

BLACKLINE SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain account, variance, task settings and assignments
  • Maintain organizational structure, including new entities, acquisitions, migrations, region/sub-region categories, entity hierarchy, contact list
  • Define, set up, and maintain team structure
  • Define, set up, and maintain periods and due dates
  • Bring new entities onto BlackLine for account reconciliation and variance
  • Maintain user base including approvals, setup, access, training, deactivation, entity, teams, and roles
  • Assist end users in resolving BlackLine system issues and support requests
  • Guide users in best practices to take advantage of system features
  • Prepare and upload balances and transaction details from ERP into BlackLine
  • Troubleshoot questions and issues with administrative uploads
  • Utilize automation tools to enhance work product and eliminate inefficiencies
  • Monitor account reconciliations for quality and adherence to deadlines and policy

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years’ experience in accounting
  • BlackLine experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of SAP and ORACLE
  • General Ledger Accounting background preferably with Finance Shared Service
  • Strong communication skills – effective verbal and written communication skills in English language is MUST
  • Aptitude for business systems and automation
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of intellectual curiosity; inquisitive.
