Fixed Assets Senior Accountant

PURPOSE
You will be a member of the IQVIA financial shared services center in Bratislava Slovakia, which is an integral part of our global financial shared services network.
On this position, you will be responsible for the US GAAP accounting and reporting requirements for the Company’s legal entities in a number of countries. This will include mainly fixed assets and general accounting duties to ensure the entities’ books are complete and accurate and are reported to the US parent company in a timely fashion each month. The primary focus will be to ensure strict adherence to US GAAP, internal financial policies, and ensure compliance with IQVIA Financial Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

RESPONSIBILITIES
•Support month end process within deadlines and instructions.

•Manage capitalization of labor costs for internally developed software

•Book regular monthly journals and ad hoc adjustments as required

•Oversee reconciliations of tangible and intangible assets on monthly basis

• Process put in use and disposal fixed assets listing in accounting system

•Provides training & guidance to more junior colleagues.

•Ensure that accounting records are thoroughly maintained in preparation for independent audits.

•Provide full audit support during annual financial audits
•Participates and manages departmental projects as needed. 

•Provide recommendations to improve existing processes and financial systems and suggest alternatives where appropriate.

•Ensure appropriate communication with all business partners and support business partners in financial decisions, if required.

•Maintain and improve technical accounting skills.
•Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

•General Ledger Accounting background preferably with Finance Shared Service. Fixed assets accounting experience is preferred.
•Strong communication skills – effective verbal and written communication skills in English language is MUST

•Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience in accounting.
•Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
•Technical accounting skills.
•Attention to detail and a high degree of intellectual curiosity; inquisitive.
•Ability to exercise judgment within procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
•Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and managers.
•Sense of urgency and ability to juggle and prioritize multiple work requirements to meet deadlines.
•Strong customer service focus, with a drive to ensure that we exceed the expectations of our customers.
