Our Operational Excellence and Delivery (OED) Office is a newly formed business until at the corporate level that incorporates a strategic and consistent approach to Portfolio Management, Center of Excellence, Delivery and Execution, and Sustainability and Adoption of Parexel’s strategic initiatives. The Associate Director, Organizational Readiness will be an individual contributor within the Center of Excellence (CoE). He/she will work with other members within the OED organization, Strategic Program Lead, Senior Leadership, Corporate Communications, Learning & Development, Finance, HR, IT, Quality, Commercial, and Clinical Development team members. The Associate Director will provide work direction to project teams and functions undergoing change.
The Associate/Director, Organizational Readiness will manage the full lifecycle management of change for specific initiative(s), including, but not limited to, identifying and documenting the change impact, preparing a change strategy, stakeholder management, communications, training, evaluation and KPI management (including adoption and realization metrics), and use of sustainable support structures (e.g. Super Users, Change Agent Networks, etc.) needed to successfully embed changes, inclusive of behaviors and mindset shifts across the company.
This role is critical in leading and supporting change programs, as well as ongoing operational improvement efforts, bringing creativity, entrepreneurialism, expertise, and innovation to support the complexity of embedding change within a highly matrixed, global organization. In addition, this role will embed best practices and standards for leading and executing organizational readiness back into key functions within Parexel, in order to achieve maximum efficiencies and effectiveness.
Key Accountabilities:
Own and drive the organizational readiness plan across a program and/or initiative ensuring change is successfully embedded
Partner with leads from Training, Human Resources, Quality, IT, business representatives/subject matter experts and support network (as applicable) to ensure plans are in place, coordinated and aligned, and executed in accordance with the agreed strategy and timing
Use appropriate change management methodologies and standards to ensure changes are fully thought through and implemented
Conduct stakeholder analysis and continuously monitor state of stakeholder engagement. Establish networks and conversations to leverage champions and turn resistors into supporters
Leverage expertise and best practices to develop clear, compelling, and creative change strategies, communications, and training materials
Coach leaders and key individuals on best practices, tools and templates that support and drive change management inclusive of communication, role modeling and other change leadership skills
Surface and understand dependencies; work across business units and functions to find solutions, escalate issues and challenges to stakeholders
Surface risks and create mitigation strategies
Establish networks and conversations to leverage champions and turn resistors into supporters
Monitor adoption through proactive KPI management performance measures, feedback loops, and stakeholder engagement
Ensure changes are embedded into business as usual and appropriately transition support in collaboration with the Sustainability team
Support and provide frameworks to ensure functions/departments that are indirectly impacted by change also understand and are prepared for it
Skills:
Strong project management capability
Ability to create a sense of urgency and take a proactive, solutions-based approach
Strong consulting and influencing skills; ability to develop a holistic view of performance problems, identify root causes, and determine solutions.
Ability to influence senior leadership and navigate matrixed business structures
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Strong analytical skills to determine an organization's needs, risks to adoption and to determine mitigation plans and evaluate their effectiveness
Client focused approach to work
Ability to analyze complex/novel situations using existing tools and resources & make recommendations for practical solutions
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word, ability to become proficient with systems
Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail
Willingness to work in a matrix environment and to value the importance of teamwork
Comfortable with accountability and ownership
Knowledge and Experience:
Experience working in a CRO, or pharmaceutical company is ideal. Would also consider someone with experience working in Healthcare Insurance.
Deep content and global change management practice expertise, including extensive experience with cross-functional initiatives
Experience leading teams
Extensive experience with successfully leading and embedding behavioral change and mindset shifts
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, business, or another analytical field
Certification in change methodologies
OD or Communications-related degree or certifications considered a plus
