  Job Summary SUMMARY:

The Laboratory Equipment Coordinator is responsible for the effective coordination of the maintenance, calibration and purchasing of Operations equipment.

Qualifications:

Education:  Associate’s degree (A.A./A.S.) or equivalent from a technical or trade school in a  related discipline

Experience:  A minimum of two years related experience or training.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

  Long Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Create and maintain a computer database to track the life cycle of all equipment in areas of responsibility.

Order replacement parts (i.e. scanners, wands, cables, pipettes) and equipment under the direction of Management.

Ensure all in-life computer cart equipment is properly functioning and readily available.

Serve as point of contact for Operations staff and liaise with Facilities staff for equipment issues, repairs and calibration.

Track, expedite and follow up on non-routine equipment issues to ensure resolution of all issues and complete closure including documentation.

Assist in scheduling outside vendors to perform calibration and validation of equipment at the site and ensure compliance with calibration standards and guidelines.

Assist in planning and coordination of  equipment purchases including engagement of key stakeholders.

Assist in coordinating equipment repairs, maintenance schedules, and replacements with department management, facilities and purchasing.

Assist in the creation/revision of Standard Operating Procedures for maintenance, calibration and validation of equipment.

Assist in GLP and client audits.

Provide end of study support regarding cart cleaning, equipment checks and overflow supplies.

Liaise with System Administrators as needed to support equipment needs.

Serve as Safety champion for equipment, eye wash stations and fire extinguishers.

Perform all other related duties as assigned.
