  Job Summary Job Summary: 

Responsible for coordinating IACUC functions and the IACUC review process. Generates reports for semi-annual facility inspections and program reviews and maintains the IACUC databases. Performs record keeping, reporting to regulatory agencies and maintaining documentation for regulatory accreditation and licensure. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Assist with meeting agenda preparation

•    Assist with preparation of meeting minutes

•    Assist in preparation of Semi-annual inspection and program review reports

•    Assist IACUC in conducting facility inspections

•    Attend IACUC meetings and assist with meeting logistics (meeting room or virtual meeting)

•    Assist in conducting IACUC meeting

•    Assist in maintaining IACUC records (electronic and hard copies)

•    Revise IACUC policies as instructed

•    Act as a liaison between study directors, study coordinators, and the IACUC

•    Assist in gathering information for annual reports to AAALAC, USDA, and OLAW

•    Assist in the development, maintenance, and communication of departmental systems

•    Perform administrative and clerical support functions as assigned

•    Perform all other related duties as assigned.

  Job Qualifications

Qualifications: 

•    Education: Associate degree (AA/AS) or equivalent preferred.

•    Experience: 3-5 years administrative experience. Experience working in a laboratory animal environment preferred.

•    An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

•    Certification/Licensure: None, unless required by local government.

•    Other:  Knowledge of USDA regulations, AWA, PHS policy, AAALAC regulations, and "the Guide" preferred. Excellent organizational skills, especially with time management and record keeping. Must be able to work independently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

•    Computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite), commensurate with essential functions, including the ability to learn a validated system.
