This is an excellent opportunity for a Medical Director with exposure in oncology clinical trials and the pharmaceutical industry to play an important role in driving our organisation towards success.

The Medical Director will have overall responsibility for our oncology clinical trials by providing medical, scientific, and strategic leadership for the successful planning, execution and reporting. You will provide overall leadership to all Oncology Research Physicians and Research Nurses focusing on clinical performance, patient safety, data quality, delivery of service to all customers and development of all research clinicians in conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer. The role will be both strategic as well as focusing on delivery, quality, people development and training, you will be involved in feasibility, medic/non-medic training, patient recruitment, SOP review and changes, resource planning, career progression, patient and study documents, patients' pathways, tele-screening, recruitment materials and inspection readiness, target planning, ensuring proper reporting of delivery and quality KPIs. The role involves working very closely with the Chief Medical Officer for growth and global expansion of the Oncology Site Network.

Main responsibilities:

Provide medical management and research expertise for oncology clinical trials.

Contribute medical expertise to ensure compliance with regulatory authorities and client protocols.

Strategic participation in new business development through involvement in proposals and sponsor meetings as requested.

Responsibility for overseeing the clinical team's performance, their training and development needs in working in conjunction with Chief Medical Officer.

To identify effective patient recruitment strategies and innovate in relevant areas of clinical trial work to develop our research sites as the industry's highest performing research sites.

Responsibility for the line management of our Research Physicians, including overseeing their preparedness for appraisals and revalidations.

Liaising with and developing positive relations with Sponsors and Research Site PI's projecting a helpful and courteous company image.

Providing both leadership and direction to all of the clinical team.

To lead the investigator engagement programme.

To line Manage all Non-PI Doctors.

To be successful you will need:

Board certification in Oncology and current medical licensure.

At least three years oncology clinical trial research experience.

Demonstrate proactive and innovative behaviour to achieve our strategic goals.

Have strong leadership skills with a focus on delivering to targets, along with a focus on quality and training.

Have experience and knowledge of working in a commercial environment understanding the link to P&L delivery.

Have experience of working within a highly regulated environment.

Excellent communication skills and proven ability to interact with executive level management.
