Associate Director, Sourcing, Talent Acquisition

Various Locations

Reporting to the VP, Talent Acquisition, the Associate Director, Sourcing will own and manage North America’s Sourcing Function while ensuring IQVIA’s access to the industries top talent. This includes leading a team of approx. 7-10 Sourcing Specialists, developing and executing near and long-term strategy, ensuring continuous improvements in processes efficiencies, sourcing effectiveness, speed and quality of hire. Consideration to hire at the Manager level will also be given to qualified applicants.  

Core Competencies & Associated Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Business Leadership

  • Serve as a key strategic partner and SME to TA, HR & BU leadership teams, maintaining deep understanding of business objectives and translating into Global & Regional talent sourcing, workforce planning and pipeline generation objectives
  • Create an environment where there is shared ownership with Sourcing Team, recruiting team, HR community and business around building a culture of hiring top talent in support of achieving company wide business objectives

People leadership

  • Elevate team to excellence through coaching, developing and leading through vision and values.
  • Conduct structured 121’s with direct reports, reviewing progress against goals, challenges, establishing short term action plans and providing specific, constructive, balanced, timely feedback (as appropriate), in ways which motivate & drive stronger performance/affinity.
  • Ensure completion of Annual Performance Reviews, Competency Reviews & Individual Develop Plans

Collaboration

  • Establish and cultivate strategic, value add relationships with TA Leadership, Peers across TA and HR Community, business stakeholders and external partners as required
  • Establish, evolve and present meaningful metrics to Talent acquisition team, HR Community and business leaders as required that inform of areas in which we excel and where we have opportunity to improve.
  • Conduct Monthly, Quarterly, Annual Progress and Strategy Reviews with TA Leadership and broader TA org
  • Instil a customer-focused, partnership model approach across the team to ensure delivery of a consistently outstanding candidate experience and to enable positive hiring manager experience, maximizing the team’s strengths for top performance
  • Partner with TA and HR Colleagues to develop and oversee the execution of sourcing and talent attraction strategies that enable the engagement and hiring of top talent for business-critical roles in a competitive market
  • Partner with TA, Marketing and HR Colleagues to initiate and oversee the production and utilization of collateral and content (off- and on-line) that drives brand reputation and engagement amongst top industry talent.
  • Create, manage and or participate in special projects and initiatives that require cross organizational collaboration efforts and drive positive impact to the function and enterprise

  • Demonstrate and provide clear, concise, verbal and written communication when engaging with business leaders, colleagues, team members and external audiences
  • Ensure key stakeholders are informed and up to date on progress against key recruitment initiatives
  • Set clear expectations when driving key initiatives around objectives, purpose, timing, actions, owners and deliverables.
  • Create and conduct presentations that increase the value of information by incorporating and translating data into stories with clear, engaging, influential messaging

Innovation

  • Conduct ongoing organizational capability assessments focused on analysis of current sourcing and talent attraction practices and efficacy at organizational, brand, function, department and individual levels across the organization
  • Conceptualize and implement systems and processes, embedding these in the organization in order to drive change
  • Promote a Growth mindset, strategic agility, driving innovation, learning quickly, and pushing for what’s possible near and long term
  • Research, self-educate and enable inspiration that fuels strategy and leads to making connections that advance strategy.
  • Monitor trends and developments in emerging sourcing tools and technologies in the market while ensuring the team is leveraging the most effective channels to attract passive talent and drive traffic to the IQVIA social and company career pages.
  • Leverage cross business synergies and TA data analytics to develop, implement and operationalize new strategies and processes to drive progressive success and efficiency of recruiting.
  • Work individually and collaboratively with Sourcers, Recruiters and Recruiting Management team to develop attraction strategies on aging requisitions and or niche searches that ensure week over week progression toward hiring solutions.

Ownership

  • Demonstrate and communicate a high level of ownership and commitment to achieving results when engaging with business, HR colleagues, TA Organization and external partners
  • Assume responsibility for the behaviours, performance and results of entire org
  • Deliver appropriate responses and plans to address individual and team performance, aligning appropriate actions against both positive and negative behaviour, performance, etc.
  • Ensure data integrity across all core systems relating to sourcing and candidate pipeline management

Associate Director level Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree Preferred
  • Min 2 years direct people management experience (preferably performance-based producers)
  • Min 6 years related talent acquisition experience
  • Practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within one department or multiple related departments
  • Related experience within a professional service, CRO, management consulting, information technology services, pharma and or life sciences environment preferred
  • Experience within both Recruitment Agency and In-house Recruitment environments preferred
  • Ability to develop and implement best in class sourcing and recruitment strategies, leveraging external market and internal hiring data to demonstrate progressive impact and value add
  • Strong time management and prioritization capabilities with ability to multi-task and self-manage.
  • Strong business acumen with ability to navigate and operate within matrix, fast paced organizations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills along with an ability to interact and develop networks in a professional manner across the business.
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills, influencing & decision facilitation skills.
  • Advanced user of MS Excel and MS PowerPoint as well as applicant tracking systems.
  • Advanced ability to analyse and interpret data while leveraging to develop and execute both near and long-term strategy

Manager level Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree Preferred
  • 1-year direct people management experience preferred but not required  
  • Min 4 years related talent acquisition experience
  • Understanding of basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.
  • Min 1 Year people management experience
  • Related experience within a professional service, CRO, management consulting, information technology services, pharma and or life sciences environment preferred
  • Experience within both Recruitment Agency and In-house Recruitment environments preferred
  • Ability to develop and implement best in class sourcing and recruitment strategies, leveraging external market and internal hiring data to demonstrate progressive impact and value add
