<h2>Job Overview:</h2><p style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Associate Director, EDS</strong></span></p><p style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">The position has full responsibility for managing staff. This includes hiring, coaching, scheduling/delegating work, conducting performance reviews and determining pay and promotions.</span></p><ul><li style="margin-left: .25in;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Ensure the work carried out in the EDS department is in strict accordance with relevant protocols, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and GCP guidelines and that the quality of all services meets or exceeds customer requirements.</span></li><li style="margin-left: .25in;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Collaborate with peers to develop global harmonized SOPs and specific quality processes and procedures for EDS activities.</span></li><li style="margin-left: .25in;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Overall responsibility for managing the EDS department to include managing performance reviews and issues to ensure career development, interpersonal skills, and achievement of competency standards. Review any individual issues with supervisors and staff proactively and in a timely fashion; work with the supervisors to resolve all issues in a supportive manner, creating and maintaining performance plans and providing constructive feedback as appropriate.</span></li><li style="margin-left: .25in;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Support EDS staff to ensure that studies are delivered according to sponsor requirements on time, to high quality and within budget. Manage all team members effectively providing training, acting as a source of guidance, and performing QC as appropriate.</span></li><li style="margin-left: .25in;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Responsible for department recruitment and hiring of new EDS staff.</span></li><li style="margin-left: .25in;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Determine required staffing levels to meet short-term and long-term department needs, liaising with senior management as appropriate.</span></li><li style="margin-left: .25in;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Support business development and marketing activities at client presentations and professional seminars.</span></li><li style="margin-left: .25in;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Oversee EDS project and department budgets including tracking costs and revenues. Work with the Director to ensure EDS is sustaining a high operating margin and to agreed targets.</span></li><li style="margin-left: .25in;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Support business development by collating EDS information for Request for Proposals and Request for Information. Prepare and present at sponsor meetings in support of EDS capabilities. Work closely with Business Development in maximizing new business opportunities.</span></li><li style="margin-left: .25in;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Responsible for cascading relevant information from internal and external meetings to direct reports and appropriate colleagues.</span></li><li style="margin-left: .25in;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Formulate and approve department strategies and objectives for short and long-term goals.</span></li><li style="margin-left: .25in;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Maintain a comprehensive understanding of department SOPs, Work Instructions (WI) and other guidance documents.</span></li><li style="margin-left: .25in;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Possess knowledge of other company procedural documents and policies that impact EDS.</span></li><li style="margin-left: .25in;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Collaborate with peers to establish global EDS competency models and assist with the development of training programs and ensure staff achievement of position competencies.</span></li><li style="margin-left: .25in;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-size: 12pt;">niversity / college degree (life sciences, health sciences, information technology or related subjects preferred). </span></span></li><li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Experience and/or education plus relevant work experience, equating to a Bachelor’s degree will be accepted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree. </span></li><li><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Fluent in English, both written and verba</span>l </span></li></ul><h2>Experience:</h2><ul><li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">8+ years prior experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device/diagnostics, or clinical trial industries to include data management with 5 years’ technical supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the key responsibilities of the job.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate staff and inspire effective teamwork.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Strong organizational, planning, and critical-thinking skills.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Demonstrated skill for management of staff, both in mentoring and developing staff on technical and core competencies.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Well-polished, inclusive, and engaging communication skills (written and verbal) to support effective interactions with sponsors and internal colleagues.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 12pt;
