  Job Summary We are seeking a Clinical Veterinarian 2 for our Insourcing Solutions site in Poolesville, MD. This position is offering a $4,000.00 signing bonus.

 

The following are the responsibilities of the Clinical Veterinarian 2:

•    Diagnose and provide treatment plans for research non-human primates (OW and NW) to include preventative medicine and quarantine procedures, clinical procedures and surgeries (such as diagnostic imaging, dental care and abdominal surgeries). Veterinary care will also be provided to a small population of ungulate and rodent species.  

•    As requested, read and review animal study proposals to provide input to the veterinary care aspect of the research proposed. 

•    Communicate both verbally and written with investigators, managers and staff regarding procedures performed and on animal health concerns. Maintain and foster good working relationship with customers/clients on daily basis.

•    Possess professional level verbal and written communication.  Be competent in computer skills using common programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.

•    Actively interacts with management, facility veterinarian and other clinical veterinarians and investigators as required to solve customer requests, inquiries, and complaints and to provide technical assistance.

•    Assist with maintaining accurate records of animal clinical cases and their progress via an electronic database entry system. 

•    Assist with hands-on and didactic training of technical staff, particularly veterinary technicians. Job Qualifications  Education: Degree in Veterinary medicine Experience :   Two years of relevant veterinary experience with laboratory animals, specifically primates (OW and NW) or completion of a laboratory animal residency. Certification/Licensure : Must possess a current state license.
