<h2>Job Overview:</h2><p style="margin: 0px;">Recognized as one of Forbes 2021 World’s Best Employers and named to Fast Company magazine’s list of 2021 Most Innovative Companies, Labcorp is seeking to hire a Executive Director, Publications Head to help identify and shape opportunities for our continued growth across our Labcorp Oncology segment. </p><p style="margin: 0px;"> </p><p style="margin: 0px;"><span style="color: #231f20;">Labcorp Oncology believes in harnessing science to improve health and the lives of people with cancer.  </span><span style="color: black;">Over the last 25 years, Labcorp has played a historic role in launching some of the hallmark diagnostic testing for the treatment of cancer, including HER2, PD-L1, EGFR, BRAF, ALK, RET and others. </span></p><p style="margin: 0px;"> </p><p style="margin: 0px;">As the Head of Publications, you will lead the development, management, and execution of global or regionally integrated strategic publications that align with product medical strategies and medical communication plans. Furthermore, they will support early and late phase projects leading multidisciplinary teams and cross-functional publication planning meetings.</p><p style="margin: 0px;"> </p><p style="margin: 0px;"><strong>Essential Duties</strong></p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0in 27.0pt;"><strong> </strong></p><ul><li>Enable cross functional collaboration on the medical strategy for oncology & precision-medicine, leading the design, execution, analysis, communication, and publication of scientific, translational, and correlative clinical biomarker research studies</li><li><span style="color: black;">Working knowledge of standard/best practice bioinformatic pipelines used for analysis of genomic and molecular data to facilitate collaborations geneticists, oncologists, biostatisticians, statisticians, and informaticians</span></li><li>Initiate communication with authors; identify all necessary data required for content development; participate in author meetings to facilitate content discussion and ensure appropriate content development process is followed</li><li><span style="color: windowtext;">Critically review publications including, but not limited to, manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and oral presentations, for accuracy and scientific rigor; manage and facilitate the content review process, </span>including collating reviewer comments and having discussions with authors and reviewers</li><li>Provide input and manage timelines to ensure that deadlines are met with quality. Assess resource needs for assigned projects, as needed.</li><li>Interact directly with Clinical, Statistics, Regulatory Affairs, and other pertinent teams to fully understand development programs, regulatory and medical strategies, and key scientific and communication objectives for the therapeutic area and develop appropriate scientific publications.</li><li>Effectively and consistently communicate the publication strategy, tactical plan, and plan progress to internal business partners</li><li>Manage medical writing agency, including oversight on execution of publications plans and budget, and maintenance of publications management databases</li><li>Coordinate, plan, and manage publications budget</li><li>Provide medical and scientific review of Global Labcorp Oncology materials (and, if required, promotional materials) to support the medical (and promotional) review process</li><li>Manage alliance partnerships as/if needed</li><li>Input into the process development and refinement, as/if needed</li><li>Contribute to the development of content for Global Labcorp Oncology projects, including but not limited to, NCCN compendia, training materials, global congress plan, and medical resource tools, as needed</li><li>Serve as the Global Labcorp Oncology Publications representative on relevant Enterprise-wide Publications teams</li><li>Attend conferences, symposia, or other meetings, as necessary or as assigned, and act as liaison between Global Labcorp Oncology and external content contributors</li><li>Interpret and present scientific and clinical trial data to a variety of audiences, along with a strong understanding of statistics</li><li>Commitment to ethical practices in the preparation and dissemination of publications</li><li>Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies</li></ul><h2>Education/Qualifications:</h2><ul style="margin-top: 0in;"><li style="margin-bottom: 0in;">PhD, MD, or MD/PhD with experience in oncology and/or precision medicine</li><li style="margin-bottom: 0in;">A minimum of 10 years of experience in the life sciences required (pharmaceutical industry, biotechnology, research or academia)</li></ul><h2>Experience:</h2><ul style="margin-top: 0in;"><li style="margin-bottom: 0in;">Strong track record demonstrating experience with generating peer-reviewed scientific, medical and/or translational research publications in oncology or precision-medicine</li><li style="margin-bottom: 0in;">Excellent writing skills coupled with a comprehensive knowledge of the publication process and publication guidelines, along with careful attention to detail</li><li style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><span style="color: black;">Track record of disease- or technology-specific subject matter expertise with respect to </span>precision-medicine in oncology </li><li style="margin-bottom: 0in;">Ability to manage large data sets, data mining, and statistical analysis related to precision-medicine oncology testing across various platforms. May assist in building clinical databases.</li><li style="margin-bottom: 0in;">Ability to perform bioinformatic analyses (including coding), generate figures, and write text for publications and presentations (regional and national conferences).</li><li style="margin-bottom: 0in;">Understanding of pharmaceutical clinical development and product life-cycle management preferred.</li><li style="margin-bottom: 0in;">Possess a strong understanding of how a publication strategy should align with clinical evidence generation and payor strategies to support reimbursement </li></ul>
