The Manager of Commercial Finance is expected to establish him/herself as a strong “commercial finance expert" by partnering with client leaders (CRDs, ALs) in an attempt to improve the financial results of the clients assigned. Accordingly, the Manager of Commercial Finance must be able to balance the financial needs of the customer with the financial and fiduciary needs of Parexel.

The Manager of Commercial Finance influences Parexel business growth and profitability through strategic financial leadership for clients or groups of clients and becomes known as the "expert" person for broader Finance and non-Finance understanding or insight into relevant client portfolios and contract types.

Financial Analysis:

• Create accurate, transparent, and timely financial analysis to support Commercial leadership in decision making process; clearly articulate financial implications of business decisions / choices, and provide retrospective analysis as well as drive forward looking actions.

• Considers the big picture, including all stakeholders, and looks beyond the obvious to anticipate problems and data needs and proactively find solutions. Works with FBP's to obtain most recent financial information. Performs scenario modeling and utilizes business acumen to suggest best options

• Provides leadership and guidance to FBPs in the portfolio/account analysis requirements for assigned clients;

• Collaborates with Proposals & Contracts and Portfolio Leaders on the development of financial analysis for proposals

Business Decision Support:

• Leverages understanding of the business context to synthesize financial and Commercials data into meaningful business insights that highlight performance, risk, and opportunities at portfolio or customer level. Provides leadership support to FBPs in identifying insights that highlight performance, risk and opportunities

• Identifies and implements alternative finance scenarios with a high degree of technical knowledge, business acumen, best practice approach at the portfolio or account level (key accounts and/or smaller strategic partnerships)

Client/Portfolio Partnership:

· Monitor performance to ensure successful financial and commercial performance at client/portfolio level

· Drive organizational process and system improvement opportunities by leading or participating in change initiatives at portfolio level and/or account level. Manager will have key accounts and/or small to medium size strategic partnerships responsibilities.

· Leverage relevant and impactful metrics to drive account level process, system and financial improvements.

· Collaborates with Proposals & Contracts, ALs and CRDs on the development of financial analysis for proposals

· In partnership with Commercial leadership team, develop and measure key metrics, incentives, and objectives for cross-SBU engagement. Provide Pricing oversight on cross deals. Involvement in complex, multi-million deals centered around creating value for Parexel

· Monitor key portfolio/client financial management performance indicators, identify and implement areas for improvement, develop solutions and adjust org unit tactics, policies and procedures to improve client portfolio financial outcomes. Influence Commercial team to drive improvements in profitability

· Support organizational process and system improvement opportunities by participating in change initiatives at portfolio level

· Partner with Business Operations to consolidate Pricing tools and remove complexity. Reviews pricing for clients

· Serve as a liaison and resource to primary customer(s) leaders throughout Parexel on all account level finance-related matters

· Advises SBU's to opportunities to potentially address customer specific concerns within SBUs portfolio

Knowledge and Experience: BA in Finance or Accounting; MA in Finance or MBA, or equivalent experience required

Significant and progressive Finance and Management roles with strong analytical and partnering track record.
