We are looking for a Facility Specialist 3 to join our Insourcing Solutions team, located in Cambridge, MA.

In the Facility Specialist 3 role, you can do that by supporting the delivery of in-vivo data to facilitate the goals of drug discovery projects through hands-on conduct of in-vivo experiments in rodents.

What you will do!

In the Facility Specialist 3 role, you review and comply with all policies, guidelines and operating procedures pertaining to the animal care and research program and provide technical procedure training to less experienced staff and researchers, and provide re-training as needed. In addition, assists in the management/ maintenance of breeding colony tasks such as setting up breeding schemes, plug checks, weaning, and sample collection for genotyping.  May assist in writing/ reviewing animal facility related documentation such as SOP’s, GDL’s, POL’s, etc.

As a Facility Specialist 3, you must be able to perform the following techniques in rodents: PO, IV, SQ, IP, IM, and IN dosing and/or inoculation techniques, blood collection, and perfusions, and physiological recordings, necropsy, tissue and fluid collections, and rodent  anesthesia and/or approved physical methods. Job Qualifications  

Who are we looking for?

A candidate that possesses a Bachelor’s of Science in Animal Science, Veterinary Technician or related field required or equivalent of Associates of Veterinary Technology with five years of directly related experience to the technical duties listed above.  Must have 4 years in a laboratory animal facility, of which six to twelve months is facility organization and oversight and demonstration of training ability. Demonstrated successful experience in the breeding, care and husbandry of rodent laboratory animal models required.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the requirements as listed above.
