Parexel is seeking a Senior Manager, Enterprise Infrastructure responsible for leadership of Systems Engineering and Operational IT staff in supporting and achieving mission and strategic goals. Ability to motivate teams with diverse cultural backgrounds. Evaluate and assess monthly status reports of all activities and translate appropriately to business needs. Work closely with other company departmental resources to deliver quality end-to-end services for both internal employees as well as external customers.

The ideal candidate for this opportunity will possess more than 5+ years of experience in providing IT services for a CRO or similarly regulated industry

Key Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for technical worldwide management of server infrastructure Operating Systems including Windows, Linux & Solaris. With a focus on providing global business solutions relative to these technologies.
  • Develop roadmaps, conduct research, evaluation and/or provide recommendations for new alternative solutions and technologies related to functional area of responsibility.
  • Oversee the selection, configuration, development, implementation, operation and on-going assessment of infrastructure and management systems related to functional area of responsibility.
  • Compute: Manage worldwide Server environment both on-premises and in the Cloud. Design and implement server solutions, conduct asset inventory, capacity management, and lifecycle management of the server environment(s) related to functional area of responsibility. 
  • Identifies and proactively drives high quality project deliverables, dependencies, and critical path items specific to infrastructure and shared services hosted in Parexel Data Center(s) and the Cloud. Operates as a critical liaison between Infrastructure teams, developers, project managers, the business representatives, and all global team members for IT services related to functional area of responsibility.
  • Independently operates in a culturally diverse environment, adapting communication style, procedures, and approaches as necessary.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Operating Systems Service offerings up to technical delivery and applies wider domain knowledge to assist in driving decisions related to LAN, WAN, Active Directory, Storage, Backup and Security related items that impact Data Center service offerings.
  • Delivery of reliable, quality, systems environment for all users, including capacity management, performance management, troubleshooting, security, hardware and software installations and upgrades, maintenance, repairs and enhancements.
  • Provide thought leadership for primary technologies in functional area, including technology roadmaps, and shared services & tooling supporting Operating System management.
  • Work to ensure minimal downtime of essential systems.
  • Define, review and maintain hardware/software technical standards, especially related to business processes, installation, configuration, management and maintenance of systems in responsible technology field.
  • Work with IT management to ensure staff coverage of mission-critical systems during and outside of normal business hours and assures availability of emergency or contingency support when needed.
  • Responsible for ensuring system and data security standards are maintained within the scope of responsibility.
  • Identify opportunities for improving business operations through more effective use of IT and preparing proposals or recommendations.
  • Contribute to the definition and development of worldwide operating procedures and standards for systems.
  • Ensure compliance to the Information Systems Procedures and Quality standards.
  • Keep abreast of industry standards and technological trends.
  • Develop worldwide processes within domain of responsibility.
  • Interfaces independently with all functional and business areas affected by the project – works closely with functional resource managers to ensure adequate allocation of resources to projects.
  • Establishes relationships with global vendors and implements performance metrics, contractual compliance, and SOW elements.
  • Independently coaches, mentors, and motivates a large, global team to influence a positive, accountable, and collaborative approach – effectively communicates project expectations to all team members and stakeholders including business representatives, vendors, engineers and architects.

Skills:

  • Senior level knowledge of group dynamics, technology, management and finance.
  • Strong presence and presentation skills.
  • Assess, evaluate and make recommendations on Infrastructure technologies, security, risks and efficiencies.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Previous IT services experience within CRO/healthcare or similarly regulated industry
  • Internal IT Services, supporting product development environments
  • External IT Hosting Services, and supporting client facing internally developed solutions
  • 5+ years’ experience in a Technology Management role
  • Proven ability to effectively interact with a globally dispersed team of engineers
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills
  • Experience in an international organization is a plus

Education:

  • B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree or industry experience
