BASIC FUNCTIONS:

This position will be instrumental to the successful growth and development of IQVIA Biotech’s CVRM therapeutic area, providing senior level operational leadership and strategy development, with a focus on therapeutic differentiation, operational excellence and CVRM business growth.  Specific functions include project and program oversight, new study strategy and proposal development, early engagement activities, internal CVRM Project Management development and driving of operational excellence.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provision of billable Project Director level operational leadership for key accounts in conjunction with Project Manager / Associate Project Manager resource. The ‘face of the project’ for the client. Accountable for project performance with regards to profitability, delivery of key milestones, and resource management;
  • Provision of executive oversight for IQVIA Biotech CVRM US clients. Establishing senior / executive level relationships with Biotech clients and providing senior level point of communication and escalation, whilst maintaining operational oversight and mentoring of the project team, to provide pro-active support with regards to risk and issue management;
  • Provision of therapeutic/operational and strategic insights, and leveraging of IQVIA Core Enabled Solutions for early engagement, proposal development and bid defense meetings, in close collaboration with key functional stakeholders, Centers of Excellence and Business Development to support new growth and expansion of CVRM portfolio;
  • Development and review of the budget (labor and pass-through costs) associated with the proposed project strategy. The budget should be competitive and in line with the contribution margin targets and pricing strategy agreed with Sales, leadership, and other stakeholders;
  • Define and communicate the project team profile and organizational structure that will enable operational managers to identify and assign team members that can meet the customer’s needs and successfully secure the project award;
  • Guide and mentor assigned Project Manager through a comprehensive handover of the project strategy and facilitate their understanding so that they can confidently present the project strategy to the client and the internal stakeholders;
  • Provision of line management, mentoring and oversight of Americas based CVRM Project Manager / Associate Project Manager resources;
  • Collaborates with Therapeutic Area Head, CVRM to develop a sales strategy with emerging biopharma companies to enable the CVRM Division to achieve its near and long-term revenue and profitability goals;
  • Support IQVIA Biotech’s global sales and proposals teams with CVRM therapeutic training, messaging, content development, and strategic planning;
  • Suggests operational process improvements to the leaders of the CVRM Therapeutic Area and appropriate functions to align with the needs of potential clients, particularly around ways to differentiate the IQVIA Biotech CVRM sales effectiveness and operational delivery;
  • Actively involved with industry events to gather intelligence and enhance the public perception and market penetration of IQVIA Biotech CVRM; provides training on industry intelligence back to internal teams;
  • Supports growth and organization development strategies, including 3rd party partnerships, both organic and inorganic, in conjunction with the Executive Management/GMD leadership teams.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated expertise of the clinical research service and biotechnology industries;
  • Demonstrated broad CVRM therapeutic expertise including understanding of core CVRM indications, treatment pathway, standard of care, and patient symptoms and outcomes;
  • Demonstrated expertise around the lifecycle of CVRM drug development with ability to strategically analyze CVRM clinical trial protocols;
  • Familiarity with the sales process and service model of clinical research services;
  • Familiarity with proposal development and market differentiation/branding;
  • Demonstrated ability to interact across numerous functional groups (both external and internal personnel) and in a team-based work environment;
  • Strong technical and computer skills to support data/budget analysis, customization, reporting and presentations;
  • Strong relationship development, communications, presentation, and negotiations skills;
  • Ability to translate market dynamics and trends into action through effective planning and process/team support;
  • Demonstrated track record as a self-starter, showing personal initiative and resourcefulness to drive results.

CRITICAL JOB FUNCTIONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH ADA CRITERIA:

  • Very little physical effort required to perform normal job duties
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required

MINIMUM RECRUITMENT STANDARDS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent); advanced degree (MS, MD, PhD) in medicine/relevant healthcare or scientific discipline preferred;
  • 12 years’ experience specifically in the CVRM therapeutic area in either the academic, pharmaceutical, biotechnology or clinical research industries, with CVRM specific therapeutic knowledge / expertise regarding understanding of treatment pathway, standard of care, and patient symptoms and outcomes;
    • Overall experience to include CVRM clinical trial implementation, therefore having the ability to analyze a protocol and develop strategic pricing and operational solutions; strong general medicine therapeutic experience with demonstrated exposure to a customer service setting.  Global experience preferred;
    • Recent experience in senior level customer facing operational roles at a CRO with a specific focus towards CVRM;
