Job Summary We are seeking a Director - Veterinary Services to support our NHP Quarantine site located at the Armand-Frappier Institute in Laval (Canada).

The following are the main responsibilities of theDirector -Veterinary Servicesposition: Oversee daily animal health assessment program; Ensure performance of and perform as needed veterinary rounds, clinical care and preventive medicine support; May perform surgical support and provide anesthesia, surgical and analgesic technical expertise/advice; Perform pre-shipment physical examination of animals assigned for delivery to customers; Responsible for the overall training program for veterinary and technical staffand ensure that training is properly documented and regularly updated as necessary; Overseeoptimization and enhancement programsin collaboration withother site managers; Provide animal health care guidance for veterinary services personnel as required; Implement and monitor the preventive health program appropriate to the site’s needs; Assist Director in oversight ofvariousprograms; Write, review and update veterinary care and/or necropsy SOPs as required; Perform expert veterinary support to internal and external customers; Ensure that all animal care related activities are conducted in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP),and various association regulations; May assist in management of the activities of assigned section, including supervising employees, scheduling, personnel actions (hiring, promotions, transfers), discipline, personnel development and performance monitoring; Assist in the development of operating objectives, organizational structure, staffing requirements, budget, departmental systems and SOPs; Perform all other related duties as assigned.

The following are minimum requirements for theDirector -Veterinary Servicesposition: Education:Veterinary degree (D.V.M./V.M.D.)isrequired Experience:Minimum of 6 years veterinary experience ina CRO environment.Two years supervisory/ management experiencewould be an asset. Certification/Licensure:Licensure to practice veterinary medicine inCanada is required.
