Finance Supervisor

PURPOSE

This position is responsible for supervising and coordinating Shared Services Accounts Payable team, which include AP process execution in line with Financial Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Internal Control Processes

and people leadership in line with HR processes (cca.19 FTE).

The position will require significant process expertise related to AP invoice processing and payment processing in a global shared service environment and team leadership experience.

This individual will be a member of the Iqvia Global shared Services, supporting our global operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will report directly to the Finance Shared Service Center AP Manager.  Duties include:

  • Monitor effective operation of  AP (sub)processes & activities via KPI reviews, help desk tickets, employee / stakeholders feedback to ensure are operating smoothly and system / processes are working as designed
  • Work closely with GFSS group stakeholders, internal / external clients to ensure service delivery in line with SLA and internal processes
  • Monitor and review Key Performance Indicators; establish a roadmap to close gaps and achieve improvements targets
  • Participate in the implementation of strategic initiatives and plans.
  • Identify opportunities to improve / standardize the processes via process or system changes and automation
  • Lead / participate on AP projects – e.g. process improvement strategy and implementation activities, new ERP implementation
  • Monitor compliance with company and process procedures. Recommend and assist with process changes as issues or business changes arise
  • Responsible for SOX and business controls; ensure processes are properly documented for SOX and that quarterly reviews are completed on time. Work with SOX PMO, internal audit,  and external audit as required for identified deficiencies or to refine controls as business environment changes.
  • Manage staff in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable legislation. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and guiding professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems. Approve actions on human resources matters, including salary administration.
  • Mentor and develop team resources to increase skill level
  • Effectively manage team resources and delegate tasks as per skill level.
  • Evaluate workload and quality through regular review.
  • Ensure the staff has a consistent understanding and positive impression of business strategy and operations.  
  • Perform other duties as assigned.   

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years’ experience in P2P / AR or accounting including line management experience in a US multi-national company; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience of working in a Shared Services, preferably in financial accounting role.
  • P2P Process knowledge; proven operational management and business process improvement
  • Proven people leadership experience min. 1 year
  • Knowledge of ERP financial systems and reporting tools, advanced data capture solutions and automated workflow tools (experience with PeopleSoft / SAP / Oracle is a plus).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of intellectual curiosity.
  • Ability to exercise judgment within procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Problem solving skills.
