Data QA Test Lead

The Performance Management and Insights team (PM&I) is based in Bath and specializes in providing technology solutions and data management services to pharmaceutical companies. The Data QA Test Lead will become part of an innovative QA/QC team, with a focus on ensuring high standard data development and delivery to clients. We are looking for an individual who can take ownership of our Testing/QA/QC processes and help evolve industry leading quality processes.

The role will be central to new client developments, ensuring that data has been correctly loaded, and ensuring associated data manipulations (business rules) have been applied to meet the clients’ business need.

As part of the client delivery team, you will be involved in all stages in the project lifecycle, from scoping, through estimating, designing test plans, executing test plans and creating automated data load test routines for the production teams.

You will be using strong problem-solving and technical skills to trace issues and investigate databases to find causes of discrepancies and will concisely communicate solutions to the development team.

The is also driving towards constantly improving existing processes and bring in best practice to the QC framework. You will be part of this, helping in the design and building of core automated routines to drive towards standardization and innovative approaches to QC and QA.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for testing processes and procedures across the team, ensuring there is a testing framework and specific test plans for all client deliveries – and collaborating with relevant departments to ensure compliance
• Oversee day to day QC activities for client deliveries, help to design test processes and analyse issues to drive continuous improvement
• Test database developments to ensure developed as per scope
• Create automated data testing routines for ongoing data loads
• Work as part of the office-based project teams, including project manager and development teams to ensure high quality of deliverables and correctness of developments during set-up projects - including developing test plans, and executing overseeing services team testing
• Support production team with issues arising and problem solving during ongoing data loads
• Work with Business Analysts to Interpret scope and develop quality plan
• Test database has been correctly loaded and associated business rules have been developed correctly
• Estimating level of effort for new client project work
• Help in the development of core testing routines and support services team in building and executing test plans

Our ideal candidate will bring:

• Solid experience in a database / ETL quality control environment
• Experience in a Software Testing environment
• Strong technical skills and experience in MS SQL, Excel and VBA, with relevant qualifications
• Advanced experience working with JIRA
• Experience working with Test Management tools such at HP Quality center or TestRail
• ISEB or ISTQB software testing certification desired but not essential
• Previous experience as a QA or Test Lead is a requirement for this role
• Enthusiasm and drive to help small delivery teams to provide complex data management solutions
• Ability to work in a fast pace environment and manage time and priorities effectively
• Be able to understand detail and lead technical discussions, while keeping a high-level view of overall strategy and objectives
• Build strong relationships, especially with development team and operational delivery teams
• Bring strong problem-solving skills, comfortable working in an evolving environment and able to adapt to new challenges
