Technical Writer for Global Delivery Excellence

Job Profile Summary

Develop product manuals, how-to guides, website help sections, best practice articles, and other content that distills technical information with ease and clarity.

Write technical documentation, to cover the development processes, release processes, environment management, code management, good practice, and general usage, thus benefiting users and internal developers

Essential Functions

• Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
• Maintain records and files of work and revisions.
• Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers or establishment personnel.
• Select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material.
• Develop or maintain online help documentation and technical manuals / FAQs / PowerPoint decks used for knowledge sharing sessions
• Lay out material for publication efficiently and professionally.
• Study drawings, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail.
• Arrange for typing, duplication, and distribution of material.
• Observe production, developmental, and experimental activities to determine operating procedure and detail.
• Analyze developments in specific field to determine need for revisions in previously published materials and development of new material.
• Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction and binding.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Typically requires 2 - 3 years of prior relevant experience.

Skills and Abilities

Collaboration

• Collaborate closely with developers in the team
• Ability to work independently, seeking answers from others when required

Technologies Knowledge

• A solid background in SaaS development and web technologies based on PHP and MySQL
• Familiarity with code management systems, in particular, GIT, with the ability to deal with complex code
• Experience of release management
• Familiarity with SQL databases, PHP scripting, HTML, CSS, Javascript as well as Javascript libraries like JQuery and Datatables, and Web development principles like AJAX

Communications

• Excellent written command of English with attention to grammar, punctuation and language use
• Good verbal communication skills of spoken English, with the ability to explain complex matters succinctly
• Good presentational style is a pre-requisite so that information may be readily understood, accompanied by diagrams and flow charts where appropriate.
