Parexel Editorial Services provides Quality Control support to top pharmaceutical company clients across all phases of the product life cycle. We support the delivery of author-driven publication materials reporting the latest discoveries, via journal articles and congress presentations as well as meeting and medical symposia materials targeted to medical and pharmaceutical professionals.

We currently have an opening for a 4 month temporary assignment. As a Parexel Editorial Specialist you will oversee Quality Control processes across a variety of project types, from copyediting and styling to coordinating layout and production. You will manage client editorial preferences and liaise with an internal team of scientific writers, account managers, and creative specialists to ensure the highest quality outputs in a fast-paced, interactive, global setting.

This role could be Decentralized.

Key Accountabilities

With minimal supervision, you will work with delivery teams to schedule and perform agreed editorial and QC tasks on assigned projects, ensuring that work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards in accordance with editorial processes and industry guidelines.

You will join a team of experienced medical editors, working closely with our internal creative team providing graphic and print support. You will be assigned to account teams aligned by client and therapy area where you will work closely with dedicated delivery teams comprising medical writers as well as account managers and program coordinators.

QualificationsSpecialized Knowledge Broad Copyediting and Proofreading experience within a technical or medical/scientific setting preferred Knowledge/Awareness of print and production processes and how they apply to collateral produced Good understanding of business context within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or other regulated healthcare industries

Key Skills Highly computer literate and competent in the use of Microsoft Office (Word [Advanced], PowerPoint [Advanced], Excel [Intermediate], and Outlook [or equivalent]) for e-mail communication, tasks, calendar, contacts Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills A flexible approach with respect to work assignments and new learning - Ability to manage multiple parallel and varied tasks with positivity and prioritize workload with attention to detail Time management and prioritization skills Excellent attention to detail Ability to continuously improve way of working; unprompted problem anticipation and resolution

Education A degree (eg, BA in English or Journalism), or the equivalent work experience

Language Skills Proficient use of English language in written and verbal format.

Minimum Work Experience Minimum 5 years relevant experience in a copyediting/proofreading role preferably within the pharmaceutical industry and ideally gained working with a communication agency; highly refined copyediting, and proofreading skills Relevant experience in the design, layout, and production of both printed materials and electronic media
