We are hiring a Senior Scientific Affairs Specialist to join our team in EMEA.

Summarized Purpose:Leads scientific, technical and business development aspects relating to Third Party Laboratories within Global Central Labs. Consults extensively with Business Development and Clients as well as other internal departments on new business timelines, technical and compliance issues, and project-related matters. Works closely with the directors in strategic planning, business development, and expansion initiatives.Essential Functions:• Review Protocols and identify the tests needed, calculate the cost/test, prepare the budgets.• Serves as a liaison to 3rd party lab vendors handling and brokering outsourced lab services• Interacts extensively with business development directors, and prepares and determines quotation, pricing, project initiation and scheduling as it relates to scientific and technical capabilities of the 3rd party laboratory operations.• Participates in strategic planning, capabilities development, prepares projections, revenue tracking, and other financial-related issues.• With management, initiates and implements plans to develop and improve areas for greater efficiency, productivity, and quality.• Participates in client, QA, facility, and project audits and prepares responses to audits as needed.• Completes technical and scientific related special projects.PPD’s mission is to improve health. Preference given for candidates with Anatomic Pathology, Flow cytometry and Molecular pathology areas.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:• Strong attention to detail• Strong written and verbal communication skills• Critical thinking skills to support quality decision making• Time management and organization skills• Ability to multi-task• Ability to adapt and adjust to changing priorities and expectations• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment• Knowledge of preparation of SOP’s, protocols and other technical documentsPPD values the health and wellbeing of our employees.
