Job Overview
Our growing organization is looking for a strong Senior Accountant to manage the accounting needs of two of our business units. This individual will work among business unit specific teams as well as the regional and global accounting and finance organization. The ideal candidate will not only prepare, analyze, and report financial information, but will act as a strategic business partner that can streamline our laboratory operations into scalable accounting processes and procedures.


Essential Functions
• Ownership of the month-end close process for the Bioanalytical business unit of Q2 Solutions including the recording all revenue activities and associated costs timely and accurately.

• Assist with the month-end close process for the Vaccines business unit of Q2 Solutions including review of all revenue activities and preparation of expense entries timely and accurately.

• As needed, assist with any customer invoicing or vendor payment issues.

• Where applicable, ensure appropriate communication with all business partners and support business partners in financial decisions, if required.
• Review the financial systems, processes, and procedures on an ongoing basis for further development of efficiencies
• Manage timely completion of detailed account reconciliation and follow-up / resolve open items for specified tasks.
• Participate in or manage Accounting/Finance related projects as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
• Master’s of Accounting degree or Certified Public Accountant license preferred

• 3-5 years experience

• Experience with accounting for inventory preferred

• Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to top management, other department heads, and co-workers.

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of PeopleSoft Finance modules preferred.
• Strong Technical accounting skills.
• Strong analytical and numeracy skills.
• Ability to identify financial issues and execute mitigating actions.
• Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple work requirements to meet deadlines.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers and clients.
