The Senior F5 Network Security Engineer, reporting to the America’s Director of Information Security, will be acting as the lead F5 subject matter expert within this global region, and requires expert level knowledge and the ability to work autonomously to support ongoing usage of the F5 infrastructure.

Job Description:

The Senior F5 Network Security Engineer will be responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the F5 BIG IP infrastructure supporting the PPD on-premise and cloud environments. Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

Designing and onboarding new applications as well as troubleshooting any existing connectivity challenges. Working directly with other system administrators and application owners to ensure proper system functioning. Collaborating with global teams to maintain a consistent level of support across long running work streams.

Technical experience:

Supporting and maintaining F5 Big-IP ADCs to include set-up, maintenance, upgrades and replacement of the latest generation of F5 (physical and virtual)Extensive experience with Big-IP LTM, ASM, APM, DNS modules in a large globally distributed enterprise environmentDemonstrate an ability to craft and understand iRules and LTM policiesExperience with TCPDump, Wireshark and analyzing network trafficDemonstrate a solid understanding of the OSI and TCP/IP network modelsExperience analyzing security impacts and risks to websites, expertly craft ASM policies to protect against the latest threatsExperience in custom SSL, ciphers, and LTM traffic performance optimizationExperience with F5 BIG-IQ central management This role may be expected to work after hours to support change windows or respond towards outage incidents.

Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5 years’ experience) in network communication, systems administration, and/or IT security systems

F5 certifications: F5-CA, F5 CTS, F5 CSE (preferred)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of software development security principles, concepts, and best practices Client focused approach with strong interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and pay close attention to detail Positive attitude with a commitment to high quality work Solid understanding of security technologies and platforms Strong logic and problem solving skills
