Responsible for supporting quarterly and annual sales targets for assigned product line and services in a designated geographical region.  In addition, responsible for working closely with Account Management, Marketing and Product Management as a subject matter expert.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   Support Senior T&MD Managers in their work with management teams to develop and implement short and long-term strategies to support sales program applying technical/scientific skills to compete for customers.   Assist Account Management with presenting global capabilities. The  T&MD Manager I will support lead qualification and closing new business opportunities by providing scientific support during customer teleconference calls, field visits and at scientific trade shows. Work closely with Senior T&MD Managers on providing technical leadership and direction to support customers and the Account Management. Join regular interfaces and communications with the Account Management team to relay shared goals and targets; support the development of co-strategies to achieve defined targets; and work cohesively as a team to provide excellence in service to clients. Work with Account Management team to generate major account specific sales strategies to close opportunities. Work closely with Senior T&MD Manager on their support for Key Account Managers. Work closely with Senior T&MD Manager on their support for the management team in partnering with operational senior leadership to drive and design tactics, strategy and decision-making for new and existing products. Participate in collaborations with Product Management to support product introductions and life cycle management. Fulfill subject matter expertise role, working with marketing to assure design, development and implementation of marketing tools and programs that support company goals. As required, give overview of assigned product line and services to internal and external contacts. Share portfolio opportunities to appropriate account manager. As required gather data on market trends, and competitive products and pricing. Gather data on potential customers in the designated geographic region to help shape sales strategies and tactics. Build relationships with customers to influence the acceptance and use of company products and services. Build relationships with industry organizations and engage in discussions with industry opinion leaders. Participate in the design, development and implementation of training programs. Utilize CRM to capture customer information. Participate and assume support role in national and international tradeshows. Participate in and contribute to sales meetings as required.   Complete all required sales documentation in a timely manner. Perform all other related duties as assigned. Job Qualifications Education:  Bachelor’s degree (B.A. /B.S.) or equivalent in related scientific discipline. Experience:  Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. Certification/Licensure:  Valid driver’s license required. Other:  Must possess excellent communication and presentation skills.  Proficient in the use of standard office computer applications (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, e-mail). 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must regularly operate a computer and occasionally operate other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.  Regularly provides information to and receives information from/through various technologies, media, sources and contacts. Must be able to accurately exchange accurate information in these situations. Must occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: General office working conditions; the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

COMMENTS: This position requires regular travel.
