As a Senior Data Governance Analyst, you will be joining a team with an unyielding dedication to the company purpose; Together We Create Healthier Lives. Our Digital Journey is about sustaining and advancing our position to unlock our next horizon of growth and become a leading ‘digitally-powered’ CRO enabling our clients to deliver innovative, safe, and effective treatments to patients as quickly and effectively as possible. In the process, we want to continue to be at the forefront of the drug development and discovery process, ultimately reducing the early-stage drug development timeline by a full year.

•You want to be on the ground floor of projects, being an active listener as well as a good partner who brings thoughtful solutions to the team as you will work closely with the Data Engineering team and DataOps team to drive Data Quality and process improvements. 

 

The following are responsibilities related to the Sr. Data Governance Analyst   

•Lead the development of data governance practices and data catalog to successfully maintain and support data standards, data quality, PII, data policies, reference data, and leverage best in class data management practices.

•Develop exceptional, accountable relationships with key stakeholders and partner with them in developing and implementing data standards and driving user adoption.

•Critical Data Element identification (perform criticality assessment) and approval facilitation.

•Business metadata definition and assessment through stakeholder workshops.

•Data lineage mapping.

•Data Risk and Control identification and assessment

•Data Profiling 

•End-to-End review of implementation and findings.

•Data governance advisory (e.g., best practice, data policy compliance).

•Data Quality measurements and reporting

•Work with system owners to enhance and implement data standards. 

•Work with business data domain owners and stewards building roadmaps to help drive implementation, data quality, and business value.

•Identification of data gaps and recommendations for strategic remediation.

•Enabling, Training, Building data community ensuring they will get most value out of a Data Catalog \ Governance Solution. 

•Data Governance business overview sessions (e.g., Enterprise Data Governance Framework, Principles, Procedure, Metrics and Tools) to nurture a culture of accountability for complete & accurate data. Job Qualifications The following are minimum requirements related to the Sr. Data Governance Analyst position.

 

•Bachelor’s degree from accredited university in Computer Science, Data Management, Business Administration or equivalent program, master’s degree preferred. 

•7+ years of relevant experience in Data Management, Data Governance and Data Quality Management.

•5+ years of experience in data governance process creation and standardization

•7+ years of experience in writing SQL queries, data mining, data profiling, and data validation/testing

•5+ years of experience working with Customer Master data and Customer 360 initiatives.

•An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

•Strong business analysis skills with attention to detail.

•Demonstrated proven success in solving fundamental and highly challenging issues in terms of why data is captured, how is data integrated between business functions and systems, how data is organized, how it is leveraged, what tools and technologies if deployed could maximize leverage and how to define & implement data governance

•Proven leadership with ability to translate data governance requirements into business outcomes

•Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork enacting best in class data management practices that achieve the goal of treating data as a corporate asset

•Strong communication and influencing skills. The ability to build rapport at all levels across the organization.

•Ability to identify and engage stakeholders to leverage data through non-invasive data governance practices

•The ability to work autonomously, manage stakeholders, and deliver on multiple streams of work simultaneously.

 

The following are strongly desired:

•Experience in Agile Mindset (Scrum or Kanban) and or experience in Agile delivery. 

•Certified Data Steward

•Experience in Life Sciences industry with master data and analytics solutions

•Strong intellectual curiosity, eager to learn new technologies and adapt solutions.

•End to end understanding of mastering data through operational use through data analytics

The Corporate Functions provide operational support across Charles River in areas such as Human Resources, Finance, IT, Legal, Sales, Quality Assurance, Marketing, and Corporate Development. They partner with their colleagues across the company to develop and drive strategies and to set global standards. The functions are essential to providing a bridge between strategic vision and operational readiness, to ensure ongoing functional innovation and capability improvement.
