Responsible for planning and performing experiments, analyzing and interpreting results, and providing technical support for new biotechnology product development and associated support

functions related to daily operations of the Research Department.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  Plan, perform and troubleshoot routine and novel testing in support of existing LAL / Nexus, Celsis and new product research projects/studies. Analyze and interpret results. Maintain appropriate records for use in the final report/protocol. Experienced in Design Control (e.g. Stage-Gate), assay file development and new product development required. Plan and conduct product application projects related to LAL components and equipment requiring broad application of advanced knowledge and technical skills. Provide testing results and technical assistance to other departments of the company via verbal or written communication as directed. Good understanding of hypothesis testing approaches which incorporate the identification, gathering, and analysis of relevant data to determine the appropriate conclusion. Provide input and maintenance to SOPs, procedures, and other associated documents related to new product development. Responsible for documentation as required by company policy, GMP, FDA and all other appropriate regulations. May perform, assist, or investigate the following:

- Validation of product-specific test methods.

- Training of other personnel, sales reps, and customers.

- Operation PTS and all LAL analysis systems.

- Raw materials testing, review, and release. Interact with internal subject matter experts for technical assistance. Perform all other related duties as assigned.

  Job Qualifications   Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A. /B.S.) or equivalent in Chemistry or Biology or related scientific discipline. Experience: At Least three years R&D or Technical Operations related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. Advanced computer and math literacy required. Specific in-house training will be provided and maintained on the employee training record. Willingness to travel to other Charles River Microbial Solutions sites if needed.

 

Work Environment:

  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; use a microscope; talk, hear and work/type at a computer. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently wears protective clothing (goggles, face shield, surgical mask, cap, gloves, scrubs, boots). While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, works with sharp objects, works with or near toxic or caustic chemicals, works with biohazards, works with live animals (small, medium, large) with risk of exposure to allergens., is exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
