ThePrincipal Scientist isresponsible for the development or oversight of the development of methods to quantify chemical entities, including small molecules, proteins, peptides, oligonucleotides and novel compounds using LC-MS/MS. This individual demonstrates expertise in the use of instrumentation and laboratory techniques and has the aptitude to drive implementation of new platforms including automation platforms. A Principal Scientist effectively applies his/her experience and knowledge to provide guidance for method development activities and troubleshooting method performance, providing scientific expertise to laboratory staff. This position may also be responsible for the general oversight and management of staff assigned to multiple departments or functions. A Principal Scientist is also responsible for developing and ensuring compliance to departmental policies and procedures. This individual is expected to be an expert in his/her discipline, providing leadership in developing staff and efficient and scientifically valid processes and procedures. This individual may function as a Principal Investigator or Study Director, responsible for the development and execution of validation and sample analysis protocols/plans in accordance with company standard operating procedures (SOPs), industry regulatory guidelines (GxP), and budgetary guidelines.

The following are the minimum requirements related to thePrincipal Scientistposition.

PhD in relevant field and 15-20 years of relevant experience (preferred); or Master's/Bachelor's degree in relevant field and 15-20 years of relevant experience (preferred). Proficient using laboratory software applications and LIMS. Expert knowledge of GxPs and industry guidance documents. Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, evenings,weekends, extended shifts and/or extra shifts, sometimes on short notice. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work under specific time constraints.
