As a Senior Metrologist you will provide maintenance on various laboratory instrumentation and equipment, and at times trouble shooting of instrumentation. Your work will be performed independently and documented in accordance with standard operating procedures and established maintenance schedules to meet regulatory requirements. Your ability to perform and document work in accordance with standard operating procedures and established maintenance schedules to meet regulatory requirements are an integral piece in helping PPD accomplish our goal of helping bring life-changing therapies to market.

Responsibilities:Provide installation oversight of new laboratory instrumentation and equipmentWork with lab staff to schedule maintenance and train others on equipment as neededMay also train, mentor, and provide oversight to junior level staff responsible for same tasksPerforms scheduled maintenance on active instrumentation and equipment.Performs scheduled calibrations/qualifications on active instrumentation and equipment to include IQ (Installation Qualification), OQ (OperationalQualification) and PQ (Performance Qualification).Independently writes and reviews qualification documentation. Performs remedial maintenance on active instrumentation and equipment and problem solves issues.Prepares SOPs pertaining to operation, maintenance and calibration of laboratory instrumentation and equipment.Addresses audits on laboratory instruments and equipment.Our leaders cultivate an environment for career growth, so whether you want to growyour career within the metrology or scientific ladder, pursue project management, or develop into a leader. Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualificationPrevious experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2 to 5 years) or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience OR Master's DegreeKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Understanding of FDA and GXP regulations and requirementsWorking knowledge and understanding of laboratory instrumentation and equipmentWorking knowledge with systems in use at PPD or within the CRO/Pharmaceutical industryAbility to train othersClient focused approach with strong interpersonal skillsAnalytical and critical thinking skillsTrouble shooting abilitiesAbility to communicate effectively with vendors, clients and all levels of staffAbility to work in a collaborative team environmentManagement Role:
