Registered Nurse - Various Locations

IQVIA is about to launch a new patient support program for patients undergoing treatment for moderate to severe Ulcerative Colitis or Crohn's disease.

Each patient will receive care from a dedicated Registered Nurse in their location on the following treatment plan

- IV Infusion every 8 weeks (covers 2 1/4hrs of clinical time including travel)

- Sub-cutaneous injection training every fortnight (covers 1.5hrs of clinical time including travel)

The nurse is required to collect the medication from the nominated pharmacy and transport via cold chain to the patients’ home to administer the infusion for 30 minutes in the patient’s home with 15-minute post observations taken.
• Confirming each visit with patient
• Collect the IV medication from the pharmacy and deliver to the patient’s home
• Setting up and conducting the infusion in a location that is suitable and comfortable for the patient
• Completing post infusion paperwork within 24 hours of visit
• Reporting of any adverse events as per program protocol

Alternatively the nurse is required to train a patient how to self-administer a sub-cutaneous injection (either pre-filled syringe or pre-filled pen).
• Confirming each visit with patient and ensure that the patient has the sub-cutaneous injection in their refrigerator ready for the visit
• Setting up and conducting the training in a location that is suitable and comfortable for the patient
• Completing post training paperwork within 24 hours of visit
• Reporting of any adverse events as per program protocol

Essential:
• RN (Current Registration)
• Current Basic Life Support /CRP Certificate
• Current/ full/ unrestricted driver’s licence
• At least 12 months recent cannulation and IV infusion experience
• Hand Hygiene Certificate & Infection Prevention Control Certificate
• Police Check & Working with Children Check
• IT Proficient
• Flexible with time and days

• Australian Citizen or PR

Desirable:
• Community nursing experience
• Porta Cath, fistula, PICC line experience

Training on the medication will be provided by IQVIA and the client prior to the patient visit
