Job Summary

The 3rd shift Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing security operations during the overnight hours (11pm-7:30am). This role ensures that all personnel, property, and assets are protected according to company policies and procedures. The supervisor leads a team of security officers, monitors shift activities, responds to incidents, and maintains accurate reports. This is an armed position, and all candidates must have an OPOTA Private Security Firearms certification or be able to obtain it within 30 days of employment.  

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of 3rd shift armed and non-armed security officers;
  • Monitor, document, advise, and provide updates on any security or safety issues, ensuring that all incidents are documented and reported immediately;
  • Compile and present campus security recap reporting to head of security as requested;
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures;
  • Respond to emergencies, alarms, and incidents promptly and appropriately;
  • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention;
  • Enforce access control procedures and visitor management;
  • Patrol campus regularly, per defined security routines, to maintain order and establish presence with security team;
  • Works closely with external businesses on campus to provide security services as prescribed by the business, and approved by the head of security;
  • Maintain and create security schedule for 3rd shift;
  • Conduct shift briefings and assign duties;
  • Sustain the highest levels of professional conduct and customer service maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanor; and
  • May be responsible for performing tasks of security and for other projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required;
  • At least 5 years of security experience, preferably in a corporate campus environment;
  • Must have supervisory experience managing a security workforce;
  • CPR / Frist Aid certification preferred;
  • OPOTA Private Security preferred;
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed;
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills;
  • Outstanding attention and observation ability;
  • High degree of critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
  • Proficient in report writing and use of security systems;
  • Current and legal Driver's License;
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  • Highest level of integrity and ethics; and
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with others.
