In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert and lead in providing statistical, process and regulatory knowledge to the department. Acts as the senior reviewer on simple or moderately complex projects, and with additional oversight as needed on complex or highly complex studies.

Contributes to the achievement of financial and business objectives through timely monitoring and analysis of budgets and resource data for simple to complex and/or large scale program project portfolio. Works cross-functionally with other departments and functional project leads to complete assigned tasks on time. Provides mentorship and training to junior team members.

Essential Functions:

• Administers the daily financial management of simple to complex studies and/or large scale programs for the functional area's portion of a project budget, with minimal supervision.

• Leads preparation of contract modifications and guides team through the contract modification process, ensuring consistency and coordination across multiple projects with the same client.

• Participates in the management of risk. Identifies/escalates/addresses risks, updates risk management tools, and actively participates in risk meetings.

• Assists with bidding and prepares new award budget revisions with supervision. Works closely with management to revise bidding assumptions, provide scope of work descriptions, update the bidding tool and document bidding assumptions and revision histories.

• Serves as a mentor and provides training to team members on project financials and project management.

• Interacts with sponsor, management, and other departments on status or topics related to the study(s) they are assigned to. These topics can include but are not limited to scope of work, contract modifications, timelines and cost subject matter.

• Reviews and makes recommendations for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, mathematics or related field or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification, and

Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5 years).

The following education and experience is preferred:

• 3 years complex project management experience to include allocation of resources against budget, forecasting, and completion/coordination of related quantitative and analytical tasks

In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong budgeting, forecasting and and resource management skills

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills

• Proficient in problem solving

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Strong Microsoft Office skills for analysis and presentation of data

• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, etc.) for analysis and presentation of data

• Solid understanding of project management principles and application

• Capable of focusing on individual projects while covering similar aspects across multiple projects

• Capable of working independently

• Capable of providing mentorship and training and promoting teamwork in a multi-disciplinary team setting

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt and adjust to changing priorities

• Positive attitude and the ability to work well with others
