Patient Awareness, Perceived Barriers, and Educational Needs Regarding the Bidirectional Relationship Between Periodontitis and Diabetes Mellitus Patients: A Cross Sectional Questionnaire Study
The study will recruit patients having diabetes mellitus; where they will be asked to answer a questionnaire after obtaining an informed consent.

A structured, self-administered questionnaire was developed specifically for this study based on an extensive review of the relevant literature on diabetes mellitus and periodontal disease awareness. The questionnaire consists of six main sections: (A) Socio-demographic information, (B) Diabetes-related information, (C) Oral health status and practices, (D) Awareness of the bidirectional relationship between diabetes and periodontal disease, (E) Perceived barriers to oral healthcare, and (F) Educational needs.

Inclusion Criteria:
- 1. Patients with Diabetes Mellitus aged 18 years old and more. 2. Patients willing to participate in the study.
Exclusion Criteria:
- 1. Patients refusing to participate in the study. 2. Handicapped patients.
