Inclusion Criteria:

  • ASA I to III
  • undergoing surgery amenable to spinal anaesthesia

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Patient refusal
  • contraindications to regional anaesthesia
  • known allergy to local anaesthetics
  • bleeding diathesis
  • inability to provide informed consent
