PPD® Laboratories’ central lab provides standardized testing, consistent results and innovative data solutions across a wide range of technologies and applications for all phases of pharmaceutical development.

Position Summary

Responsible and accountable for the ordering, receiving, processing, storing, shipment and delivery, return drug accountability, reconciliation and destruction of clinical supplies returned by the clinical sites of drug products and medical devices for assigned studies. Performs local purchases activities as per request. Responsible for logistics coordination of moderate to complex studies with little to no supervision. Actively problem solves and suggests solutions to logistics challenges.

Essential Functions

*provides supplies and shipping support including assembling and packing laboratory kits following study kit specifications,

*performs quality control checks on assembled kits, order fulfillment, shipments

*performs labeling activities and any activity related to kitting operations

*assist with (un)loading activities as needed

Additional functions:

Data Entry

*provide clerical support to Logistics Coordinators and Investigator Services

*data entry tasks (placing orders/entering site addresses with assigned timelines and according to internal SOP, issue pro-forma invoices, etc)

Investigator Services

*assist sites with any study related questions on processing and shipping samples (call center, fax and e-mail responses, e-mail communication)

*resolves problem samples

*serves as point of contact for investigator sites (provides guidance to sites)

*ensures queries are addressed, responded and documented in an accurate and timely manner according to internal SOP

*resolves queries and exceptions within agreed timelines

*monitors, tracks and notifies sites of critical values

*ensures resolution of complaints, issues and concerns and escalates to management

Sample Management

*performs a variety of simple inventory tracking procedures and administrative tasks in support of the laboratory operations

*sample handling and processing, routing

*unpacking and receiving shipment deliveries

High/Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification. Previous experience that provides knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job (comparable to at least 2 years) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

*strong attention to detail

*strong organizational skills

*strong computer skills

*good communication skills: fluent in English (verbal and written)

*time management skills

*ability to work in a collaborative team environment

*frequent mobility required (stands, twists waists, squats, bend necks)

*lifting/carrying objects

*exposure to fluctuating temperatures

*occasional exposure to potentially infectious substances

*regular rotation of work schedule to include early start time, late end time

*ability to perform under stress

*ability to multi-task
