Job Summary:

Syneos Health is looking for a commercially minded, positive, proactive and team-orientated lawyer (qualified in a European jurisdiction) to join its Business Legal EMEA team. The position will primarily support contracts (both client and vendor/supplier side) in EMEA, but will also get involved in projects and working with the EMEA Legal team more generally as required. The position involves flexibility for remote working however, some attendance at Syneos Health local offices- will be required. Some limited travel may be required to the  UK (European headquarters) and potentially to the US.

Job Responsibilities:

  • With limited oversight, successfully drafting, reviewing, negotiating and finalizing contracts for clinical and commercial services as well as contracts with vendors/suppliers.
  • Act as primary lawyer for a given territory’s contracts. Additional and/or alternative geographical scope may fall within this remit.
  • Support on projects and process improvement initiatives and work with other members of Business Legal as appropriate together with both in-house regional and/or external counsel across the relevant jurisdictions, as well as all relevant SMEs.
  • Serve as point of contact for contract-related questions from various internal stakeholders (e.g. Operational, Business, Finance, Quality...)

Qualifications

What we’re looking for

  • Fully qualified lawyer in a European jurisdiction (passed the bar) who has worked in a commercial environment (at top-rated law firm or in-house at a multinational company) with proven experience of handling client contracting matters in EMEA and strong knowledge and experience in a broad range of commercial contracts and legal-risk areas.
  • Outstanding relationship-building skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues.
  • Keen analytical skills and able to form independent judgments (taking a business-oriented approach whilst identifying and balancing legal risks)
  • Able to provide succinct, accurate and pragmatic legal advice to internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify areas requiring SME or other team members’ inputs.
  • Experience managing and coaching people and/or a keen interest to help people grow and develop.
  • Ability to take on and prioritize a wide variety of matters.
  • A strong desire to learn and sense of humor are a plus.
