  • Avoir suivi leur insulinothérapie initiale pendant ≥ 3 mois (avec ou sans combinaison de médicaments antidiabétiques non insuliniques approuvés)
  • Ne participent pas simultanément à une étude qui comprend un médicament expérimental ou une procédure à l'entrée dans l'étude
  • Avoir été pleinement informé et avoir donné son accord écrit pour l'utilisation de ses données
  • Avoir une compréhension suffisante de la langue principale du pays pour pouvoir remplir les questionnaires
  • N'ont pas commencé le traitement par bolus basal (trois injections d'insuline au moment des repas)

Le modèle de régression logistique multivariable a examiné les facteurs de base liés aux participants, aux médecins et au système de santé associés à la survenue de tout changement dans l'insulinothérapie. Le domaine de discrimination de l'enquête sur les processus interpersonnels de soins (IPC) va de 1 à 5, les scores les plus élevés indiquant plus de discrimination et l'échelle de détresse liée au diabète va de 1 à 6, les scores les plus élevés indiquant plus de détresse.

Les épisodes d'hypoglycémie et d'hypoglycémie sévère sont autodéclarés par tous les participants avec des données complètes sur le traitement depuis un mois avant la visite de référence jusqu'à la dernière visite (24 mois). Les patients ont été invités à chaque visite à déclarer eux-mêmes toute hypoglycémie depuis leur dernière visite. Lors de la visite de référence, les participants ont été invités à fournir des informations sur leur hypoglycémie pour le mois précédant la visite de référence.

Les participants à MOSAIC ont répondu à la question : "À quelle fréquence avez-vous manqué vos injections d'insuline au cours des 7 derniers jours ?". A chaque visite, les participants étaient définis comme adhérents à la visite si le participant répondait « Je n'ai raté aucun cliché » ou « J'ai raté certains de mes clichés ». Ils ont été définis comme ne visitant pas l'adhérent s'il a répondu à l'une des questions suivantes : "J'ai raté environ la moitié de mes coups", "J'ai raté la plupart de mes coups" ou "J'ai raté tous mes coups". Un participant est défini comme étant adhérent à l'étude si au moins : 4 sur 5 visitent l'adhérent.
