RASIONALE: Innsamling og lagring av prøver av blod og benmarg fra pasienter med kreft for å studere i laboratoriet kan hjelpe leger med å finne bedre måter å behandle kreften på.

FORMÅL: Hensikten med denne studien er å samle inn og lagre blod- og benmargsprøver fra pasienter med multippelt myelom, ulmende myelom, Waldenstroms makroglobulinemi, amyloidose og monoklonal gammopati av ubestemt betydning som skal testes i laboratoriet.

MÅL:

  • Opprettholde og utvide vevslager av myelomprøver fra jevnt behandlede Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG) pasienter med multippelt myelom, ulmende myelom, Waldenstroms makroglobulinemi, amyloidose eller monoklonal gammopati av ubestemt betydning.
  • Bruk vitenskapelig informasjon generert fra intergruppe- og samarbeidsstudier for å hjelpe SWOG Myeloma Committee i utviklingen av nye og mer effektive behandlingsregimer for disse pasientene.

OVERSIKT: Pasienter får behandling som anvist av behandlingsprotokollene de er registrert på. Prøver av blod og/eller marg sendes til Myeloma-depotet. Pasientens status (f.eks. pre-studie, post-remisjon eller tilbakefall) vil bli registrert før prøvetaking.
