Location/Division Specific InformationThe Automation Engineer Co-op will be a member of the Viral Vector Services Team in Cambridge, MA. The engineer will be based on the manufacturing site, supporting the site both remotely and directly on the manufacturing floor.
How will you make an impact?An Automation Engineer Co-op fulfills the role of a junior member of the automation team supporting day to day operation of the facility. They are responsible for employing their learning acumen to grow their technical knowledge of a variety of automation systems in a GMP production environment. They will be required to solve a variety of technical challenges across the intersection of automation, process and equipment. This includes both on call support of the production facility as well as growing the technical knowledge base across the rest of the team. The Co-op will also be responsible to support projects that enhance the capabilities and reliability of the manufacturing facility
What will you do?
·Become familiar and gain technical knowledge for the various automation systems implemented on site in order to support fixing and improvement projects of those systems .
·Solve a variety of Automation systems on the manufacturing floor including but not limited to DeltaV, Allen Bradley, Unicorn, OsiPI
·Work with vendors and contractors to repair, maintain and upgrade the sites automation systems.
·Support the automation efforts within projects to implement new equipment, systems and/or manufacturing processes at the site
·Fix and resolve multiple concurrent issues with a high degree of quality.
·Ensure all work is completed by the team is to the highest GMP standards (GAMP 5, 21CFR Part 11 etc)
·Prioritize a multitude of different tasks and self-manage the workload to achieve team goals
To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and should not require, now or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status. Unrestricted US Work Authorization. Forms of OPT and CPT are restricted work authorization and are not accepted for this role.

EDUCATION
Enrolled in a university studying an engineering field such as Electrical or Mechanical Engineerin
1+ years’ of completed university coursework
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
0-3 years experience required
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
·Demonstrated knowledge of IT and computed coding
·Experience with biopharmactical manufacturing processes (Bioreactors, Chromatography, Filtration etc)
·Working in an FDA regulated industry, particularly one adhering to GAMP 5 and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.
