Hemodynamic Monitoring Carotid Surgery (PREST)

Effect of a Predictive Hemodynamic Approach on the Stump Pressure During Carotid Endoartectomy: a Randomized Controlled Trial

patients scheduled for carotid endoarterectomy will be randomly assigned to a group in which arterial hypotension will be avoided by a predictive haemodynamic approach or to a group in which arterial hypotension will be treated in a standard manner

Study Plan

This section provides details of the study plan, including how the study is designed and what the study is measuring.

How is the study designed?

Design Details

  • Primary Purpose: Treatment
  • Allocation: Randomized
  • Interventional Model: Parallel Assignment
  • Masking: Single

Arms and Interventions

Participant Group / Arm
Intervention / Treatment
Experimental: predictive
vasoactive drugs and fluids will be given based on the hypotension prediction index
No Intervention: standard
hemodynamic optimization will be made based on a standard protocol

What is the study measuring?

Primary Outcome Measures

Outcome Measure
Measure Description
Time Frame
stump pressure
Time Frame: during surgery
we will compare the value of stump pressure between the two groups. the stump pressure will be measured after clamping the common and external carotid vessels
during surgery
