Job Summary

The Software Development Director is a vital role in our organization as we grow our software development environment and expand our IT department in Mumbai. Our Software Development department delivers solutions that enable and empower both internal and external customers to manage their business processes most effectively and efficiently. This individual will be tasked with accelerating the modernization of Medpace clinical and administrative software.

Responsibilities

  • Manage staff and timely deliver software solutions that enable users to most effectively and efficiently manage clinical trials, lab operations, and other business processes;
  • Identify process deficiencies and carry out timely improvements; 
  • Coordinate with company-wide leadership regarding software development projects;
  • Recruit and lead team of developers to build/rebuild comprehensive and competitive clinical trial management software and modernize systems with Microsoft technologies;
  • Supervise software development projects, as appropriate;
  • Manage and assist with the hiring of Software Development and other IT staff;
  • Oversee the training, evaluation and retention of Software Development staff;
  • Analyze new and existing technologies to evolve and improve current software applications and technology;
  • Oversee the maintenance and support of software applications; and
  • May be responsible for other projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related area;
  • 8+ years of management experience in software development;
  • Proven experience managing projects and teams and delivering software solutions on time and under budget;
  • Development Experience with Microsoft technologies such as .NET and SQL Server; and devops tools including Github;
  • Development Experience in web based technologies such as Angular;
  • Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills in English;
  • Flexible and comfortable working in a global environment;
  • Knowledge of Azure and SharePoint technologies preferred; and
  • Experience in a clinical or regulated environment is preferred.
