Scientific Advisor/Pharmacologist based in Limerick/Dublin We are currently expanding our Pharmacology team based in Limerick and Dublin. Firecrest is a division of the ICON plc Group and produces highly visual and engaging products for the Clinical Trial Industry. Our products help improve clinical trial site performance by delivering innovative and effective training through online modules while complying with Industry Standards. The Pharmacologist will play a significant role in the development of medical and/or science-based 3D animations which provide overviews of the disease area in question and the mechanism of action of the investigational medicinal product. The Pharmacologist will research the source content (clinical trial protocols and other study materials), together with external sources (e.g peer-reviewed literature and multimedia sources), to prepare scripts and visuals that are technically and scientifically accurate, clear, and concise, and which meet the client's needs. The Pharmacologist will work in conjunction with the 3D Graphic Designers to produce 3D medical animations that are engaging and visually appealing. In addition, the Pharmacologist creates case studies for each study, based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria of the clinical trial protocol. These case studies play a significant role in the Firecrest Protocol Overview training module. Our team is looking for highly literate, creative and meticulous professionals who will be able to create content and storyboards related to disease pathophysiology and drug mechanisms of action, for our high-quality training products. In addition, the Pharmacologist will focus on continuous improvement, helping to identify potential product improvements and innovative approaches to the design and development of training products within Firecrest. As a potential candidate, you are likely to have the following experience and skills:The successful candidate should have a Bachelor of Science degree or local equivalentMasters (with 1-2 years industry experience) or Doctorate (Academic) in Pharmacology, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Life Sciences or related field.Enjoy research and have prior experience in the creation of original medical or science-based content, including publications.Strong verbal and pictorial communication skills are required to assist in relaying information accurately and clearly to the 3D Graphics team: an opportunity to demonstrate your creative flare.You will be able to work effectively to tight deadlines.Efficiently manage multiple projects and assume individual responsibility for own deliverables.Good team player, with experience working in a multi-functional team.Training will be given in the specific role; however candidates will be expected to have a strong scientific background and an understanding of the molecular mechanisms of drug action
