Optical and ultrasound biometry will be done for Patients who will undergo PPV and silicon oil injection preoperative and post operative 1 month , patients will be subdevided into 2 groups PPV with silicon oil tamponade and another group phacovitrectomy with silicon oil tamponade for assesment of postoperative refraction

Inclusion Criteria:
- patients with clinical diagnosis of retinal detachment (RD)
- planned for pars plana vitrectomy with silicon oil tamponade
Exclusion Criteria:
- previous intraocular surgery
- failed optical biometry acquisition
- recurrent RD
- combined scleral buckle surgery
