At ICON, we have an incredible opportunity for a Director Strategic Projects & Process Excellence to join the team in our Leopardstown, Dublin 18 location.

Position Summary:

Lead or support global/cross-functional strategic initiatives, operational projects and process improvement projects. Create project plans, oversee and manage projects through to implementation where required. Provide mentorship and support on projects where required. Working with Subject Matter Experts, analyse and re-design complex processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Work with clients to help identify and implement improvement opportunities.

Contribute to the organizational goals by delivering business value through project execution, technology enhancements and process improvements.

The Role:Recognize, exemplify and adhere to ICON's values which center around our commitment to People, Clients and Performance.As a Manager, the employee is expected to recognize the importance of and create a culture of process improvement with a focus on streamlining our processes adding value to our business and meeting client needs.Travel (approximately 10%) domestic and/or international.Work with Leadership to agree scope of projects and initiatives, resources required, measures of success and timelines for delivery. Work effectively with internal and external clients, third party vendors and management in accomplishing project objectivesManage assigned projects or initiatives from conception through implementation including transition to operational owners where applicable. Create Project Plans for assigned projects. Update and maintain plans through the project life cycle. Schedule, lead and participate in Project Team meetings. Communicate project status to relevant stakeholders and escalate issues to management as appropriate. Conduct Workshops with Subject Matter Experts to map current processes, identify process issues and re-design processesSupport assigned projects or initiatives where planned; and other business critical projects arising ad hoc via leadership/membership of a project team or mentoring other project leaders.Deliver training to employees related to Lean Six Sigma methodologies and provide mentorship on Lean Six Sigma methods to employees leading process improvement projectsProvide support and guidance to the business on metrics definition and evaluation; and reporting tools.Any other duties as assigned by Senior Management

What you will need:Minimum 5 years industry experience and process improvement/project management experience.In depth proven industry experience and process improvement/project management experience.Bachelor's degree or local equivalent in either a life sciences, project management, or related disciplineProcess Improvement/Process Engineering training / qualification (e.g. Lean Six Sigma)Strong analysis/problem solving skillsExperience in Lean Six Sigma MethodologiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsAbility to produce accurate work to tight deadlines within a pressurized environment.The ability to make informed decisions in an emergency eventProficient in Microsoft EXCEL and PowerPoint.Due to the nature of this position, it may be required for the employee to travel. Therefore, dependent on the employee's location, the employee may be required to possess a valid Drivers' license.
