In return, we’ll help you build a career that you can feel passionate about. Job Summary We are seeking an Training Program Manager for our Insourcing Solutions Department located in Cambridge, MA.

Manage the development, delivery, and continual improvement of the training program, including technical skills training and assessment for employees and clients as well as new employee onboarding and mentorship within the training line. Assist in creation and implementation of new employee onboarding programs across Charles River Accelerator & Development Labs (CRADL). Maintain a training program in accordance with Charles River core values, CRADL programmatic documents, Charles River policy, and all federal, state, and local regulations. 

The following are responsibilities relate to the Training Program Manager: Working with the Operations team, assist in the design and implementation of the CRADL staff onboarding program. Flexibly schedule technical skill trainings and assessments to account for pre-existing skills and experience and target individual role responsibilities. Work closely with the IACUC office to ensure that client competency assessments are scheduled and performed as needed. Manage the review, revise, and update technical skill assessment forms, and train subject matter experts (SME’s) to perform skill assessments. Identify client demand for specialty technique training or services and pursue workshops, learning materials, or private instruction for CRADL staff as needed to meet demands. Manage working relationship with the Insourcing Solutions Operations team, design, implement and maintain IS new hire onboarding at local CRADL sites, in line with client contract needs. Develop and maintain good working relationships with site management and veterinary team, IACUC office, technical and husbandry staff, client researchers, and mentees to facilitate cooperation in implementing the training program. Maintain familiarity with the IACUC training protocol and ensure all training animal use is compliant with both the protocol and with institutional policies. Formulate teaching outlines and determine appropriate instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, demonstrations, meetings, and workshops. Job Qualifications

The following are minimum qualifications related to the Training Program Manager position: Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S) or equivalent in animal science, laboratory science, or related field. Experience:  Minimum five (5) years of hands-on experience with rodents in a laboratory animal setting with technical experience, of which two (2) year in a training role in a laboratory animal setting or management , supervisory or team lead experience. Certification/Licensure:  certification from AALAS. Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATG), CVT, LVT, or RVT certification preferred. An equivalent combination of education, experience, and certifications may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. Other: knowledge of functional area and understanding of how training may impact other areas. knowledge of behavior and appearances of laboratory animals is sufficient to notice deviations from normal.  Strong proficiency of in-vivo technical skills and working experience of multiple animal models. Advanced knowledge of rodent technical skills and capability of identifying sick animals, summarizing findings, and providing medical treatment as prescribed. Self-directed and displays good judgment.  Strong organization skills and proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks/projects to meet department objectives and deadlines. Ability to effectively follow verbal and written instructions and exhibit interpersonal skills that are conducive to effective communication and that contribute to a congenial work environment. Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner with coworkers, research staff, and managers. Strong organization skills and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal English communication skills. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
