As the Senior Software Quality and Test Engineer, you will be responsible for initially identifying and subsequently defining the required tests, monitoring test coverage and evaluating the quality experienced when testing the target Test Items. This will involve specifying the required test data and evaluating the outcome of the testing conducted in each test cycle. You will provide key inputs for testing during the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and may support customer validation activities to support the successful validation of our products and services within customer organisations.

Key Accountabilities:

Testing

- Responsible for the creation of test cases using own in-depth technical analysis of both functional and non-functional specifications such as reliability, efficiency, usability, maintainability and portability).

- Creates traceability records, from test cases back to requirements.

- Produces test scripts, materials and regression test packs to test new and amended software or services.

Quality Assurance

- Conducts formal audits or reviews to investigates the conduct of processes to ensure compliance with organisational standards for activities, processes, data, products or services.

− For projects, development or support activities; plans, organises and conducts audits and determines whether appropriate quality control has been applied.

Relationship Management

− Implements stakeholder engagement / communications plan.

− Deals with problems and issues, managing resolutions, corrective actions, lessons learned and the collection and dissemination of relevant information.

− Collects and uses feedback from customers and stakeholders to help measure effectiveness of stakeholder management.

Methods and Tools

− Provides advice and guidance to support adoption of methods and tools and adherence to policies and standards.

− Tailors processes in line with agreed standards and evaluation of methods and tools.

Problem Management

− Initiates and monitors actions to investigate and resolve problems in systems, processes and services.

− Determines problem fixes/remedies.

Complexity

− Work includes a broad range of complex technical or professional activities, in a variety of contexts.

− Investigates, defines and reses complex issues.

Business Skills

− Communicates fluently, orally and in writing, and can present complex information to both technical and nontechnical

− Plans, schedules and monitors work to meet time and quality targets.

QualificationsEducation:

− Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline (Maths, Science, Engineering, Computing, etc.) or a related study, or equivalent project.

− Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

− A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning

Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail

− Shows Initiative and self-confidence, is adaptable and is able to cope with changing and evolving priorities

− Demonstratable ability to apply critical thinking to problems and tasks

− Builds and maintains an in-depth knowledge of testing and validation within the life sciences industry and how they affect customers adopting our products

− Ability to design tests fully cover the needs of the change effectively and efficiently and can be traced back to requirements

− Ability to execute tests accurately and capture evidence

− Proactively participates in skills improvement training

− Ability to mentor colleagues in the test team

Knowledge and Experience:

− Proven experience in a software testing / validation role

− Experience with test management tools and defect management tools

− Experience of regulated environments (GxP, Financial, etc…) or relevant testing experience from another domain that is transferable is preferred

− ISTQB Foundation or equivalent

− Experience of working in and knowledge of the life sciences sector is desirable not essential.

− Demonstrable experience in the same or very similar role

− Experience of working successfully with a matrix organisation
