Ochrana před dezinformacemi o vakcínách proti HIV u dospívajících dívek a mladých žen v Jižní Africe (PROTECT)

Dospívající dívky a mladé ženy (AGYW) ve věku 15–24 let nadále nesou hlavní nápor infekcí virem lidské imunodeficience (HIV) v Jižní Africe navzdory pokroku zaznamenanému v programech prevence a léčby.
Pokračující náchylnost mladých žen k infekci HIV a suboptimální využívání možností prevence, jako je preexpoziční profylaxe (PrEP), které jsou vysoce účinné, vytváří potřebu vakcíny proti HIV, která by byla přínosem pro populace se značným rizikem infekce HIV.
Ponaučení z předchozích studií vakcín a nedávné vakcíny COVID-19 však poukázaly na významné překážky pro zavádění vakcín, jako jsou široce rozšířené dezinformace a váhavost ohledně očkování.
Tyto výzvy ohrožují úspěšnou implementaci budoucí vakcíny proti HIV.
Na základě těchto poznatků bude tato studie využívat teorii psychologického očkování k vývoji a vyhodnocení zpráv o vakcíně proti HIV mezi dospívajícími dívkami a mladými ženami.
Primární cíl: Porovnat změny v záměrech dostat vakcínu proti HIV po vystavení dezinformacím ve skupinách s psychologickou inokulací a bez podpory behaviorální ekonomie a bez ní.
Sekundární cíle: (1) Porovnat uvěřitelnost a přesvědčivost dezinformačních tvrzení a motivační hrozby spojené s dezinformacemi ve skupinách s psychologickým očkováním a posílením behaviorální ekonomie a bez nich.
(2) Prozkoumat účinky podskupiny podle relevantních sociodemografických a behaviorálních faktorů, včetně rizika HIV, historie PrEP, historie očkování proti COVID-19, všeobecná váhavost ohledně očkování a vyhýbání se informacím.
Vyšetřovatelé provedou tříramennou randomizovanou kontrolovanou studii 2-3 inokulačních zpráv, které se zabývají nově se objevujícími mýty a dezinformacemi o vakcíně proti HIV v Jižní Africe.
Účastníci budou náhodně rozděleni do kontrolní skupiny nebo do jedné ze dvou intervenčních větví: (1) větev s inokulační zprávou nebo (2) vylepšená očkovací zpráva o poznatky z behaviorální ekonomie.
